8 English cities top ratty league ahead of Glasgow
Glasgow’s supposed rat crisis has been everywhere from the Sun to Question Time. Those political rats, the Scottish Conservatives and their informers in the GMB have been loving the sight of their cousins scurrying around COP26 City. But, the facts are less welcome to them. A survey of 3,400 callouts in October 2020, across the UK by Pest.co.uk reveals the cities where you are most likely to spot a rat: Birmingham – 353Newcastle – 305Leeds – 266Liverpool – 251City of London – 190Manchester – 187Sheffield – 155Cardiff – 139Bristol – 131Edinburgh – 120 https://nen.press/2020/10/30/top-10-most-rat-infested-cities-in-the-uk-revealed/ Continue reading 8 English cities top ratty league ahead of Glasgow
Newcastle medic imagines ‘perfect storm’ in ‘our NHS’ in Scotland
Michael Griffin is a Newcastle-based surgeon and convenor of the Edinburgh surgeon’s professional association, the RCS. Did nobody from Edinburgh want the job? He styles himself ‘president’ and ‘professor’ but it’s just a convenorship and he’s just one of those honorary profs who has never published research. I think being a surgeon is pretty high status on its own. Why does he, and others, need ‘president’ and ‘professor?’ Anyhow, to the point, is he basing his weather prediction on the view outside his Newcastle office? He must be because: First on ‘staff shortages’, NHS Scotland has pro rata 50% more … Continue reading Newcastle medic imagines ‘perfect storm’ in ‘our NHS’ in Scotland
Figures DO NOT show booster gap in high-risk groups
There’s such a big disconnect between the text and the headline, the student on day one of a media studies course would think they’d spotted a deliberate error put there by the teacher. First, note the wee sub-heading under the photo? But, then back to the scare: A significant number of Scots most at risk from Covid are still waiting for a booster jab despite receiving their second dose more than six months ago. Just over 616,000 people in the top priority vaccine groups are now due their booster – but only 511,807 jabs have been given, figures show. And … Continue reading Figures DO NOT show booster gap in high-risk groups
The BBC’s misrepresentation of stats around England’s A&E 4 hour standard has become blatant
By stewartb The BBC’s misrepresentation of stats around England’s A&E 4 hour standard has become blatant. Apparently – even in website articles – it’s just not feasible to go into that level of detail!!! I AM AWARE OF THIS RECENT COMPLAINT TO THE BBC: ‘BBC News website : It is stated: ‘In September (2021) a quarter of patients who came to A&E in England waited longer than four hours for treatment.’ And we are told: ‘That is the worst performance since 2004, when the four-hour target was brought in.’ ‘The authoritative NHS England source is: ‘A&E Attendances and Emergency Admissions September … Continue reading The BBC’s misrepresentation of stats around England’s A&E 4 hour standard has become blatant
Army vaccinator camouflage highly effective as 95% of Scots never see them?
In our survey of 5 800, 95% were not jagged by a sojer nor had they ever seen one: Additional comments were revealing and entertaining: It’s a Set-up by @BBCScotlandNews@BBCScotland Box of gloves behind him but he’s not wearing them. Would never happen. I was given my 2nd jag a couple of months ago by a soldier in Ingliston, beside Edinburgh airport. No idea of regiment or what instrument he played, but his shoulder badge said military band. (not joking). Good lad, had an English accent if that means anything. Ravens Craig sports centre? The image looks very much like … Continue reading Army vaccinator camouflage highly effective as 95% of Scots never see them?
Boosters done on time!
Contrary to Scottish Labour Shadowy Health person, Jackie Baillie’s claims, it seems the vulnerable are getting their booster jags on time. It is of course important to clarify what ‘on time’ means. Jackie Baillie seems to think you should not wait longer than 6 months because your immunity will have waned and you’ll then catch it, defo. The JCVI who she pretends to follow and understand said ‘no earlier than 6 months’ and insist immunity is still strong after 6 months. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/jcvi-issues-updated-advice-on-covid-19-booster-vaccination Our snap poll of 5 800, some of whom are no doubt over 70, suggests that the programme … Continue reading Boosters done on time!
Army to rescue NHS Scotland with boost of additional 0.25% to staffing, non-emergency drivers mind
Ben Wallace has promised ‘about 4 000 Armed Forces personnel across the UK to stop a winter ‘collapse’. So, pro rata, that will be around 400 for Scotland to add to our existing 160 000 NHS staff, 0.25%. Wow, that’s double the current 0.125%! Given that none of the earlier lot could do emergency callouts and that Lanarkshire only got 3 nurses recently, might this just be a continuation of what is no more than a PR stunt? Continue reading Army to rescue NHS Scotland with boost of additional 0.25% to staffing, non-emergency drivers mind
Blowback: Scotland less vulnerable to terrorism if independent
THE UK Defence Secretary has said Scotland would be “definitely more vulnerable” to terrorism threats if it became independent as it would lose access to vital shared intelligence. Ben Wallace said independence would also make Scotland more open to Russian aggression if the Trident nuclear deterrent was removed from the Faslane base on the Clyde. https://www.heraldscotland.com/politics/19669490.defence-secretary-warns-terror-risk-rise-independent-scotland/ Where to begin? The rumpUK would not share intelligence with us? They wouldn’t tell us if a known threat was on a flight into Glasgow? Childish? Petty? Mind you, nobody warned the Manchester Police before the recent bomb there. Might we benefit from the shared intelligence … Continue reading Blowback: Scotland less vulnerable to terrorism if independent
Loose! Tight! The unmitigated disaster that is Reporting Scotland this morning
They do have quiet days, days when the propaganda is turned down. It makes sense. If they were hitting the SNP/SG/Scotland bad theme all the time, it might turn some No voters off. Today, however, they crank up the machine. Against the background of all scientific evidence, widespread adoption of vaccine passport internationally, Keir Starmer on Marr approving, the UK Tories approving and some nightclub owners even in favour of vaccine passports, Reporting Scotland go with those wacky epidemiologists, the other nightclub owners and Neil Oliver to cast the Scottish Government legislation as a failure. No other public service broadcaster … Continue reading Loose! Tight! The unmitigated disaster that is Reporting Scotland this morning
How Scotland’s quicker vaccination of teens will save the older folk
As Scotland’s MSM and opposition parties try to blame the SNP Government for a ‘sluggish’ booster rollout and consequent risk to the older folk, the FT reveals that England’s sluggish teen vaccination rollout has caused a dangerous surge in infection amongst the older groups Scotland has quickly vaccinated 57% of 12-17 year-olds while England has only managed 33%. The consequences are clear: Hospital admission rates are falling in Scotland but climbing in England. The R Number in Scotland is in the range 0.8 to 1.0, under control, but 1.0 to 1.2 in England, dangerous. Continue reading How Scotland’s quicker vaccination of teens will save the older folk
