Tainted by bias: Scotland’s parasitical class
By Worstie Kirk and Crusty Work but blame me for the headline: In the field of industrial relations it is good practice when dealing with cases of alleged misconduct to have a formal procedure that sets out the process to be taken and allocates roles to skilled, trained individuals. The process is divided into stages. The first stage involves investigation to establish the facts. The second stage (if there is need for one) is the hearing. The employee involved will already know the allegations against him/her.He or she will have offered his/her side of the matter and will be able … Continue reading Tainted by bias: Scotland’s parasitical class

The thought of these as the faces of the No campaign 2021 or 2022 fills me with unbridled glee (Unbridled? Where did that come from?). The Four ******men of the *************? Fill in the gaps Continue reading Photo of the Day 2
Scottish Primary School staff show how to look after children’s learning in a time of infection and our media cannot bear to credit them
I didn’t pay much attention to this point in the story of St Albert’s in Pollokshields, at the time (19th August): The council confirmed that arrangements have been made so that any pupils required to self-isolate can continue working online. STV and the Record used largely the same words. The Herald had: Each child at the Polloksheilds school has been issued with an iPad so that lessons can continue to be taught remotely but made little of it. It was only reading Libby Brooks in the Guardian today that I saw: When an entire primary class in Glasgow was asked to … Continue reading Scottish Primary School staff show how to look after children’s learning in a time of infection and our media cannot bear to credit them
Scottish tracers contact more than 98% of tourists who should quarantine
In a stunning performance only just lower than the 99.7% of contacts made in community outbreaks in Scotland, Public Health Scotland‘s teams have contacted 98.14% of all tourists who should have isolated after visiting high risk countries. True to form Alex Cole-Hamilton, Lib Dem MSP, and Herald writer Elle Duffy do not seem to have calculated the percentage figures required to put the crude numbers (36 140 out of 36 826 could be traced) into context. Cole-Hamilton said: People will be rightly puzzled at the glaring gaps in the numbers when it comes to quarantine orders for those coming in … Continue reading Scottish tracers contact more than 98% of tourists who should quarantine

Former hard left socialist shields tax-avoiding corporations in pursuit of SNP
In the Herald, where else, today, Richard Leonard continues his badly-acted nodding melodrama in which he attempts to score points over his tribal foes in the SNP and to make Nicola cry if he can. Setting the scene mawkishly with the story of his Dad’s death in an English care home, the Herald‘s Alistair Grant writes: With a grudging recognition that the care homes who decide who to admit, who charge around £1 000 per week per resident, who often fund the local Tories, who rarely pay corporate tax, who are responsible for infection control and for staffing, he charges … Continue reading Former hard left socialist shields tax-avoiding corporations in pursuit of SNP
Coronavirus: Has ‘England get out of Scotland’ lost 50% of membership?
Leading border protection activist groups, England get out of Scotland, Keep Scotland Coronavirus-free and Galloway can get tae Falkirk, have told the Tusker of their difficulty in keeping membership high enough to at least be able to hold both ends of a banner. The above protest cost the Ye’ll have had yer frackin tea group £2.40 for a roll of gaffer tape to stick one end of the banner to a fence. A crowd-funder is to be launched today to help the group with such costs. Ruth Davidson, trying on the ermine at the time, has called these groups ‘dark … Continue reading Coronavirus: Has ‘England get out of Scotland’ lost 50% of membership?
I know! I know! It was in Jason’s mum’s bedroom so it wuz!
Our wee debating society members are buzzin’ so they are, about Coronavirus in the school, at the school and among pupils. School Heidie, Mrs Sturgeon, keeps correcting them: Douglas, Richard, Ruth! Ssssssh! Look at me. Listen. Write down what I’m saying. These are part of community clusters which have had an impact ON schools, rather than school-based clusters. The virus has NOT been transmitted within schools. Richard! What did I say? Repeat it. Stop nodding like that. You’ll get stuck that way. Ruth! Stop pulling that face at me. Right, now, go back to your seats and write at least … Continue reading I know! I know! It was in Jason’s mum’s bedroom so it wuz!
Dirty old river must you keep rolling? Tories in England say ‘Yes indeed now we’re free of those EU rules!’ Douglas Ross…..?
In the Guardian today: Leading figures in the environmental sector have written to Sir James Bevan, chief executive of the EA,after a speech in which he suggested weakening the EU water framework directive now that the UK had left the union. To do so, the signatories to the letter say, would be a backward step. The signatories are calling for more investment so that English rivers meet the target of 75% rated good by 2027. Currently just 14% of rivers are judged as good under the directive. We’ve posted on this issue before. From January 2020: In a disturbing piece on Channel 4 … Continue reading Dirty old river must you keep rolling? Tories in England say ‘Yes indeed now we’re free of those EU rules!’ Douglas Ross…..?
