Tory MPs will be rushing home try out this latest kinky thing, sex with ‘the wife!’ There isn’t a recent full poll but two sub-polls in early March tell us that the troops are relaxed. Techne on 2nd March have the same percentage, 3%, for the SNP as they had on February 23rd. People Polling on 1st March have the same percentage, 5%, for the SNP as they had on February 22nd. What happened to Salter’s Ducks?

My Scotland accused of deliberately producing far more electricity than UK can cope with! post, earlier today, triggered comments on renewable energy and ducks, well worthy of reposting for maximum attention. Here they are: Anonymous Around 1964/65 when I was at school, preparing for my Higher Grade Physics and Chemistry, we used to get lectures once a fortnight from academics about current issues. One of the lectures was based on the recently devised, “Salter’s Ducks”, which were a way of extracting energy from waves and converting it to electricity. The thesis was that a long array of these anchored between … Continue reading What happened to Salter’s Ducks?

Why were Covid deaths among non-White ethnic minority groups in Scotland far lower pro rata than among white majority?

Today, the much-respected Open Democracy site has: Excluding the impact of structural racism from the Covid-19 inquiry would be a “glaring omission”, a preliminary hearing has been told. Campaigners have called the inquiry’s decision “shocking” as it reaches its final preliminary stage. Allison Munroe KC, who is representing bereaved families, told a preliminary hearing of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry on Tuesday that “the issue of structural discrimination and racism should be investigated as a key issue in each and every module”. “If this inquiry is to properly investigate the issue of systemic failings,” she said, “not to consider structural discrimination … Continue reading Why were Covid deaths among non-White ethnic minority groups in Scotland far lower pro rata than among white majority?

Scotland accused of deliberately producing far more electricity than UK can cope with!

According to Sky on 28 February 2023: UK consumers are paying hundreds of millions of pounds to turn wind turbines off because the grid cannot deal with how much electricity they make on the windiest days. The cables that transfer the power from the north to the south can’t safely deal with the amount of power the turbines generate on some days. The National Grid paid £215m to get them shut off last year – a cost that eventually ends up on people’s bills. https://news.sky.com/story/britons-paying-hundreds-of-millions-to-turn-off-wind-turbines-as-network-cant-handle-the-power-they-make-on-the-windiest-days-12822156 How much does the UK spend on electricity? £18.8 billion. Sturgeon saved lives in England too by following science on face masks

According to BBC Scotland, not quite so proud of the former FM: Secondary school children in England were required to wear face coverings to avoid a row with Scotland over Covid, the Daily Telegraph has claimed. Leaked WhatsApp messages suggest that England’s chief medical officer had been ambivalent about the scientific evidence behind the measure. Ministers in England came under pressure after Scotland introduced it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-64811382 Ambivalence about the scientific evidence at the beginning of a new pandemic? Well, yes, but the precautionary principle surely told medical officers that an airborne virus, inevitably spreading faster in large groups of pushing and jostling … Continue reading Sturgeon saved lives in England too by following science on face masks

Journalist and Con told to keep up on wind statistics

Who is telling the Scottish Government ministers to resign? Liam Kerr of the Cons, part-time MSP and often-times lawyer, is the one calling. Neither he nor Conor Matchett cares to consider these facts: FACTCHECK: With only 2.7% of the population Scotland will have 47% of the wind power in all of North Sea basin Europe’s projected offshore wind power First, from a European Parliament report in 2020: Market forces, technological advances and price developments will continue to drive offshore renewable energy growth over the coming years.
