Herald health correspondent’s deliberate distortion of facts about covid hubs which may have saved many lives

Hours after Reporting Scotland’s outdated report on PPE, the Herald reports:

QUESTIONS have been raised about how well the spread of coronavirus is being tracked in the community in Scotland after it emerged that some Covid assessment centres are not testing at all…’

The covid ‘hubs’ or ‘assessment centres’ were never intended to test for covid-19 but to protect GP surgeries, the staff and patients there, from the spread of the coronavirus outbreak. This nation-wide initiative, unique to NHS Scotland, seems likely to have been a factor in Scotland’s much lower death rate from coronavirus but has been ignored by Scottish MSM though praised in a Channel 4 report:

Why are only Channel 4 and local newspapers reporting ‘Scotland’s unique way to treat virus?’

See this from NHS Forth Valley, three weeks ago:

These new arrangements provide a simpler, direct route for people with coronavirus symptoms who require additional help or advice and also help free up local GP practices to treat and care for people with non-COVID-19 related health conditions….“People should only phone NHS 24 if their symptoms worsen or have not improved after seven day. The new local community assessment centres are strictly by appointment only and do not provide testing facilities.”

The same statement can be found for such centres across the country. Who has raised these questions about them? What are their motivations?

This is by no means a first for McArdle. Her reporting leaves a long trail of lies and distortions:

The Herald vs BBC Scotland battle for ‘Mencken Sickness Correspondent 2019’ continues as GP numbers increase but only in Scotland

93% can see a GP in 2 days but Herald Health Correspondent lies for 4th time as election looms

50% more nurses in Scotland but Herald’s Hobgoblin Correspondent presents trade union’s dodgy research to help Tories as election looms

Herald’s bitter struggle with BBC Scotland for worst health correspondent of the century continues on NHS Highland ‘bullying’

  1. The Sunday Herald today is leading with a story on testing, or lack thereof. It also has a go at the Covid-19 hubs.

  2. That’s all we seem to get from unionist press, lies lies and more lies, will they never get fed up with the amount shit they print, it beggars belief the amount of absolute garbage they concoct ? Their circulation is plummeting. Is this some sort of cult suicide pact they all have. Its crazy they are driving themselves into the ground, I’ve never seen such an example of self harm in all my life, the public are not stupid.
