The BBC are not a trusted nor respected broadcaster when it comes to their communicating news.
The other day they had a totally unnecessary article on Billionaire Brexiteer and tax exile Jim Ratcliffe:
“Billionaire Man United owner says he has lost confidence in the UK”
Apparently rich Jim thinks that “the UK was in decline due to a combination of high taxes and high immigration“.
The same Rich Jim who was a “supporter of Brexit but has been a tax resident in Monaco since 2020”.
The article stated that Rich Jim thought that “the politics of envy was driving people away from the UK”
So not the ‘Politics’ of Greed‘ then.
Greed where we see some rich people like Rich Jim not wanting to pay a fair share of taxes (or pay any taxes) in a UK that they say has declined.
So Rich Jim is there any chance of you and others like you deciding to contribute something financially , via taxes, to halt that “decline” ?
Too many rich people try to scapegoat others and it usually a case of the blame being placed upon the shoulders of those less fortunate poorer people, whom they falsely accuse of envying their wealth – some of that same wealth which certain rich people want to hoard and keep for themselves.
Rich Jim then said ” for him to return to the UK things would have to get better”.
“Get better” ?
As in he , Rich Jim, and others perhaps paying less tax if he (and others) came back to live permanently in the UK – to then see a further decline in the UK that he supposedly wants to make what ?
Make Britain Great Again ?
The article also stated that Rich Jim thought that :
“We had the greatest empire in the world. We were a great people. We won two world wars,” he said.
“But he said immigration and welfare spending were both currently too high and that politicians had proved reluctant to tackle either”
“Nobody’s tough enough to deal with the immigration problem. Nobody’s tough enough to deal with the benefits problem. But somebody needs to do it,” he said.
Is he hankering for a future Reform UK government ?
As some of those things he has said seem uncannily familiar as the hateful kind of things that we hear from Reform UK politicians?
So once again that’s your BBC folks – giving a voice to a billionaire in order to allow him to criticise others who are far less privileged than him , like those people on welfare and also immigrants, while he himself thinks he is perfectly justified in doing that as a , checks notes, tax exile.

I agree with Adam Bienkov, though I am not sure that they have actually lost their way in the news that they choose to report- more like them always choosing to adopt the wrong way in the poeple and politics that they choose to (over) promote and also those that they choose to relentlessly oppose.
Honestly it is so so very hard not to despair at how truly awful the BBC are (and other media within their UK as well) , in the context of the BBC , and other media, being clearly not fit for purpose as so called news providers – reality being they are promoters of propaganda.
Yet they , BBC news teams within Scotland and also other UK media, assume that they can all continue to take the moral high ground in a constant stream of #SNPBAD news , where they pass judgement upon the SNP , as a party and as the Scottish government, and they also (far too) frequently allow others to do the same.
Just read , watch and listen to all of their sub standard UK media output that shows their lack of impartiality and prejudice against all of those that they oppose.
Who the duck cares what Rich Jim Ratcliffe thinks (that is apart from the BBC – who always manage to seek out the very worse people to give an undeserved platform to).
Hope Not Hate – obviously bypassed as a sentiment on all of the BBC News programmes (and via much of the other UK media too) and also via their BBC (and others) online services as well.

“We had the greatest Empire in the world.” Indeed, by invading then stealing lands belonging to other people, keeping control by military force, then encouraging and in some cases even forcing Brits to migrate to some of these countries in their millions. But, of course, Brits are not migrants, they’re settlers or ex-pats. I daresay he considers himself an ‘ex-pat’ in Monaco.
