LABOUR MANIFESTO: PUTTING SCOTLAND’S RECOVERY IN BORIS JOHNSON’S HANDS

This time, Boris Johnson is serious – POLITICO

From SNP Media:

On the launch of the Scottish Labour manifesto, the SNP has said Anas Sarwar’s plans will put Scotland’s future firmly in Boris Johnson’s hands – threatening the future of Scotland’s NHS and the powers of the Scottish Parliament.

Commenting, SNP Depute Leader Keith Brown said:

“These are serious times which require the experienced leadership of Nicola Sturgeon to guide Scotland through the pandemic and into recovery.

“Despite their rhetoric, the hard fact is Labour is happy to sit back and leave Scotland’s future in the hands of Boris Johnson.

“No party that supports the Tories’ job-destroying hard Brexit or is content for the Tories to undermine the welfare state so many depend on, has a right to say they are focussing on recovery.

“By denying people in Scotland the right to decide their future, Labour has no answer to the Tory power grab on the Scottish Parliament or to the danger Boris Johnson’s post-Brexit trade deals pose to our NHS.

“Anas Sarwar calls Boris Johnson ‘a disaster’ but continues to enable him to make decisions about Scotland against the democratic wishes of the people who live here.

“Labour can’t win this election – they’ve said they can’t. They’re not even being honest with the voters – votes for Labour allow Boris Johnson to tighten his control over Scotland.

“In a fortnight, the people of Scotland will face a choice, whether to put Scotland’s future into the hands of Boris Johnson or to re-elect Nicola Sturgeon as First Minister with Both Votes SNP.”

  2. ‘Recovery’ and Labour, or Tory, just do not equate. The BritNats are conmen and women, their whole purpose for existing is to line their own pockets, keep the serfs working for next to nowt, and make THEM pay for government failures, whether it’s monetary or a matter of life and death.
The only ‘recovery’ being planned is for the well off and the very rich who have maybe lost a few £billions because of the pandemic, those who own airlines and cruise ships etc.
If anyone in Scotland thinks for one single moment, that any Tory, red, blue or yellow, has their welfare and interests at heart, they need their heads examined.

We have two weeks to crunch time, lets hope the people of Scotland see the BritNats for what they are, scammers, they even steal your last penny.
    O/T
We watch some youtube vids about people scamming (mostly) older folk, and those who work to expose them, and see justice done in some cases. Sadly, too many older folk are conned out of their life savings etc…or just have their bank accounts emptied…it happens politically to a certain extent, people are conned out of their own hard earned money, indirectly.

True – but, of course, there’s no point in telling them that. In fact, I don’t think there’s any mileage in telling them they’re off their gourds at all. BUT…

It may be worth showing them that even when Scottish *do* show they have the welfare and interests at heart IT DOESN’T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. TWICE recently they *have* voted that way. The entire Scottish Parliament did – Indy and Yoons alike – and they’re being taken to court by WM to be told “You just can’t, Colin”. If Scottish not-SNP MPs *did* rebel and vote for Scotland’s good IT WOULDN’T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. They’d be ignored and jeered along with the SNP. And there aren’t enough Scottish MPs to make Scotland’s voice heard – even if they all shouted at once.

These pig-in-a-ribbon people probably aren’t going to be persuaded to change their constituency vote, no. But what about their LIST vote? Would they ‘lend’ it, like the Red Wall, but with better results?

Is there an element of the campaign which tells people – whatever colour ribbon – that the only REAL way to get their party’s views heard is in a Parliament that uses a system where your vote counts. One where, if they’re not doing what’s good for the country, THEY CAN BE VOTED OUT. That’s not WM – ask the Northern English, Labour voting, cities and towns. We all saw how that went during the summer.

SNP 1/2 or SNP 1/Green 2 probably wouldn’t work in those place. Would
Constituency: Ribbon of your choice (you won’t change ‘hardened’ minds anyway)
List: SNP if you can/Green if you can’t

Would having the List votes split, mostly, between 2 pro-Indy parties gain a few more seats? ‘Max the YES’, or whatever the slogan is? (Ooh! 3-word slogan. Sounds familiar…)

  3. Bit O/T

I was distracted when I first tried to read this by the picture of our Fuhrer. What IS going on with his mouth?

    Fat lip?
    Lost his bottom teeth?
    Forked tongue showing?

  4. Not the prettiest sight on record. Any dog is better than Johnston. The dope on a rope. An absolute embarrassment. The Tories talk posh thinking it gives them authority. Just shows them up as being thick. Action speaks better than words. Their actions are appalling. Killing people.

  6. Ch4 Ciaran Jenkins interviews Anas Sarwar”

A must watch . . . . Sarwar states he spoke out at beginning of pandemic against moving patients from hospitals to care homes, Jenkins was suspicious “did you ” After interview CJ says he contacted Labour about this claim , they were unable to point to one single example to back up Sarwar’s claim.

AS started off interview claiming that Scotland had worse care home death rate in whole of Europe, CJ points out excess date rates in 4 home nations, where Scotland were 3rd highest. . . . AS floundered , didn’t want to get into Stastistics / numbers.
