On BBC Breakfast this morning, the reporter tells Kate Forbes:
Your conference today, I’m sure, will look at the Scottish Government’s handling of the Coronavirus pandemic and I’m just wondering if Nicola Sturgeon has got off a little lightly when you look at the stats, when you look at the fact that Scotland has one of the highest deaths per million of any comparable country in Western Europe, 30 times higher than Norway when you look at the proportion of people who died from Covid in care homes.
Scotland has had 3 676 deaths.
Norway has had only 316.
By my calculation, Scotland has suffered 11.6 times as many. Where does the 30 come from?
England has had 50 407 deaths or pro rata with Scotland 5 040 or 16 times as many.
And, of course Norway is only one comparable country.
Belgium with 16 339 deaths has had more than 4 times as many as Scotland.
Talking-up Scotland / Scottish media fact checking is like shooting fish in a barrel 
Norway is an independent country that can control its borders (and thus imports of the virus)
Scotland isn’t.
Do the BBC realise they’re making our own arguments for us?

Politicians who know they are going to be interviewed by ABC (BBC)
Then they are forearmed with UK.Gov.corona data and if presented by their interviewer with stats that are cleverly constructed with 1 aim in purpose and to undermine our Scottish Government

So England,s infection rate /million of Population is + 48.5% higher
And for deaths + 35.6% higher than Scotland
So if you wish to continue talking about such matters and in any area then i am more than happy to accommodate you
Not only that please inform your Senior management that everytime you attempt
To deploy such tactics against us then You WILL be met by facts as such you have just received

Hang on there … Scotland is NOT a ‘comparable country’ to Norway in this context and for one blindingly obvious reason.
Norway is independent: its government has control over ALL levers of power, including important ones in the context of addressing the pandemic such as border controls. The Norwegian government also has access to central bank financial intervention and it has an ability to intervene in the Norwegian labour market and economy not only to the extent/scale but also at the time the Norwegian government considers appropriate for national circumstances
Moreover, Norwegian citizens are not being subjected daily to media influences from somewhere outside the borders of their country in the ways we in Scotland are subjected. The impact of this on public compliance with Covid restrictions may be significant.
There is only one nation in the UK that can be compared with any other nation state internationally and that is England. Its government – in Westminster – is alone in the UK in being untrammelled, in having control over ALL powers and able to take ALL decisions on Covid-19 related matters for England.

The Westminster Gov was in charge of pandemic (non) planning. They shut the unit down and cut funding. To concentrate on Brexit, They were warned of a possible pandemic but just ignored the warnings. They did not care.
The BBC are making the case for Independence. To be more like Norway. Scotland could have more in tax revenues to be spent on what Scotland needs. Than funds being grossly mismanaged and misappropriated by Westminster Gov. It is kept secret under the Official Secrets Act, Just like Thatcher did. The Westminster mass murderers and criminals. Disobeying International Law. The Courts have to sort them out. Judgements against them every other day.
Iraq, Dunblane and Lockerbie kept secret for 100 years.

ABC Breakfast to John Swinney on handling coronavirus: In November fewer deaths in England & Wales per 100000 than in Scotland.
Yes if you carefully select the week 12 Nov to 19 Nov Scotland has more than England but otherwise England has more.
Rate over this period in Wales is far worse than either.
