ICU numbers fall to lowest level in last 35 days

More than 700 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Scotland in the past 24 hours. Latest figures show that 788 new infections have been recorded since yesterday, with a further 44 deaths recorded.

Like a bunch of weans counting up to a hundred and celebrating their skills, the Herald delights in the fact that there have been 100 000 cases of Covid this year then offers us no context to help us understand what the numbers mean for us. Don’t they make some claims about being quality?

100 000? I mean, so what?

Oh no! It’s a 100 000 now. I can’t go out. I’m more scared than I was before it hit 100 000!

The figure of 788 is down from 932 yesterday and 1 225 on the day before that. The figure has been below 1 000 for six of the last seven days while it was only below 1 000 for one of the seven days before that.

77 in ICU, is that good, tell us? Well, it’s the lowest since October 23rd, 35 days ago.

Encouraging?

  2. They won’t provide context because to do so would reduce the fear and panic impact of their cynical, agenda driven so-called reportage.

They are a disgrace and few, if any, could accurately be referred to as journalists.
