A significant number of children are going to bed tonight not only hungry but feeling like they do not matter because of comments that have been made today.

Above, the words of footballer, Marcus Rashford, as he hears of the rejection by MPs of the opposition motion to provide free school meals over the school holidays.

All of the Scottish Tories voted against the motion to deny English schoolchildren the same provision as those in Scotland enjoy.

The SNP voted with Labour for the motion other than Owen Thompson MP for Midlothian and Margaret Ferrier.

  1. This is a reserved issue EVEL some of the Scottish Tories abstained. But that was positioning themselves to try and take a good position. Bastards

    1. I think you may find that of the 6 Tory MPs representing Scottish constituencies 5 voted against the amendment. One, Douglas Ross, was the only one to abstain apparently.
