Maybe Tom Gordon will try to blame some junior for writing the above headline but that won’t wash.
Jeane Freeman identified care home staff as one of the obvious sources of coronavirus infection in care homes. She did not blame them. It’s just a clickbait headline or maybe an attempt to set the workers and their union against the Scottish Government. You probably guessed that anyway.
The workers, low-paid and insecure, may well have gone to work with symptoms. They will have done so afraid of losing income they really need to survive. Some will have been forced to work between more than one home further spreading the infection.
No one, certainly not former nurse and former Labour Party member, Jeane Freeman, blames them.
Most of us know, Tom too, that some of the employers, especially the corporate ones, are to blame, for their brutal exploitation of the staff and the residents, charging high fees and keeping costs down. In her position, Freeman cannot say that.
Gordon is an excuse for a journalist serving the interests of the powerful whenever he can.

Knowing the fiscal consequences especially whilst rearing a young family
It is a very very powerful force
And i recall when i was only 4 yr old and my sister 3 yr old in 1957
When my father had been at the coal face for months working and standing in 3 ft.of water and his body broke out in red weals
I can still visulise such weals in my mind today
And one day upon return from his shift he broke down in tears saying the pain was unbearable
At which point my Mother called out the Doctor
Who issued my father a sick line to take 2 weeks off
Upon receipt my Father tore it up and said to the Doctor that is no use to me
Look at the 2 bairns and my wife How the hell are we going to live
At 23 yrs old i set up my own business and ended up employing over 100 people
And due to upbringing what i saw and experienced led my business implementing a 6 month full sick pay and a good pension scheme for all
Never ever despite coming through 3 recessions did the business ever issue redundancy notice
And that along with many others factors led to a thriving successful business which was one of the top performers in its industry
These care home owners are a prime example as How Not to Conduct. Your Business affairs and along with most other UK enterprises such explains our woeful economic and social performance in comparison to other progressive Nations such as Denmark & Norway
Amply demonstrated by their handling of this virus
Their success and The UK,s miserable failure
Scotland has no alternative now but to become Independent Urgently
And build a new Nation with responsibility exercised by both Government and citizen to form a social contract that is fair and equitable
Persons and organisations such as The Herald have NO part whatsoever to play in achieving this
So change your ways or go now before you are forced to

There was a similar story in the Times Scotland section yesterday by-lined to a journalist named as Arthi Achiappan which was headlined “Jeanne Freeman Blames Nike Conference Delegates.” obviously dealing with the cover up that never was. The only problem was that Freeman said nothing of the kind and the main story didn’t actually give evidence that she had.
I think there is a move on to go after Freeman from the Unionist media, and if they cannot get her with things she has actually done or said, they will simply make things up.
