From Teacher Census Supplementary Statistics, published yesterday, we can see that the average ratio of pupils to teachers in Scottish schools has remained at 13.6 to 1 in 2019 and for the previous two years, slightly better than 13.7 to 1 in the previous three years to that.

Figures for England in 2019 do not seem to be available yet but in 2018 the rate was 16.5 pupils for every teacher. In Wales the the ratio was even worse at 18.7 to 1 and in Northern Ireland 18.2 to 1.
