Prisons in England and Wales with only half the probation officers, releasing twice as many and having to recall twelve times as many prisoners, proportionally, as in Scotland

Thanks to Dottie for alerting us to this. From the Parole Board for Scotland Annual Report 2024/2025 (2025/2026 not yet released), 2 386 prisoners were released. Thanks, once again, to Dottie for alerting me to this: Today, from Doctors’ Association UK: The Doctors’ Association UK (DAUK) has given its strong support to general practitioners in England after they overwhelmingly rejected this year’s imposed contract changes. Almost 17,000 GPs and GP registrars took part in the BMA’s referendum, with 98.9% voting against the plans. Professor John Robertson OBA I’ve written more times about McKenna than I care to remember and had resolved to just ignore his ill-informed and petty tirades against the SNP, but for dog (sorry Kev) knows what reason, I feel the urge.
