In the Guardian today: The specialist learning-disability nurse workforce is in “absolute crisis” with the number of specialist nurses falling by a third across the UK since 2009, leaving many vulnerable adults with inadequate care, according to a report by the largest nursing union. BBC Breakfast this morning on a £10bn rescue package for Thames Water, which would cost the taxpayer in Scotland a near £1bn share of that as it comes out of general UK taxation. We know by now that so called Barnett consequentials to compensate Scotland for this kind of thing rarely work and that the UK Government is more likely to cut the Scottish block grant anyway, as it pleases.
