Milking blood to keep from running out – ‘The teen knife death massacre’ – Does the Daily Record actually have a ‘new low’ as violence, stabbing and murder by ‘our kids’ (only) plummet

The Daily Record, today and on May 8th 2026, sickeningly milking and distorting Scotland’s supposed youth murder by knife problem.

Why do I say ‘supposed?’

  1. Murder by knife and possession of knives has plummeted in Scotland but not in other parts of the UK
  2. There has been a 33% fall in hospital emergency admissions due to assault with a knife in the last 10 years
  3. Knife-enabled crimes are two to three times more common in England & Wales than in Scotland.
  4. There is a marked decline in youth violence in Scotland but a surge in England.
  5. Murder by minors plummets to a quarter in Scotland but increases fourfold in England.

  1. Sensationalist nonsense from “Scotland’s Champion”. A cheap way to use a mothers grief to try and boost sales for a failing newspaper.

    Even my local hairdresser no longer buys it in for the punters to read as it became just a waste of money.

  3. Knife murders in London increased 200 a year because of austerity. UK figures went up from 500 to 700 a year. Gone down
