Good news on Police Scotland
As BBC Scotland continues to push yesterday’s news on one police officer’s pay-out and an imaginary spike in baby deaths, the others headline Brexit (BBC UK and NI) or inflammable wall cladding (BBC Wales). As with the NHS, schools and Police Scotland attacks are party of a proxy war against a party in government which remains, for them infuriatingly, popular. A reminder of the stories not reported by BBC Scotland: Full reports here: https://talkingupscotlandtwo.com/?s=police+scotland Continue reading Good news on Police Scotland
Scottish Labour pushes their luck with the GMB, on ferries
For years now, Scottish Labour have been able to exploit workers, in care homes, in schools and in refuse collection, to try to score points against the Scottish Government and the SNP. They’ve used links with trade union leaders, one married to Richard Leonard, to campaign against the interests and damaging the reputation of their workers Judging by the above letter, it looks like they may now have pushed one group too far. Gary Cook of the GMB in Scotland, said in 2019: “Nationalisation secures the immediate future of the yard and that is a very welcome development, particularly after … Continue reading Scottish Labour pushes their luck with the GMB, on ferries

Scotland vaccinates nearly THREE times as many 5-11 year-olds
THEY were the last age group to be offered Covid vaccinations, and uptake has been notably sluggish. Just 18 per cent of boys and girls aged five to 11 in Scotland have received a first dose of Covid vaccine since the rollout was extended to all primary school-aged children in early April, having previously been limited to higher risk youngsters only. https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/20135465.covid-scotland-under-12s-vaccinated/ The Herald’s Helen McCardle is on a roll of shoddy churnalism today with the above scare story. In England, only 7.1% of 5-11 year-olds were ‘jabbed’ even once, yet there are no media reports of fear, ambivalence or infection. Why might … Continue reading Scotland vaccinates nearly THREE times as many 5-11 year-olds
SHOCK: ‘Sturgeon dumped cancer-ridden lover and has bairns by four men!’
Kevin McKenna excels himself with this one or, actually, worries us that he might need help? Johnson cheated on his wife when she had cancer. He has more weans with more women than he can remember. He is responsible for a UK citizen spending years in an Iranian prison because he hadn’t read his brief and said she was teaching journalism (forbidden) there. He once tried to get a journalist beaten up. Best of all, Johnson is on record, with evidence, as having lied to Parliament and/or the Country, around 100 times: https://boris-johnson-lies.com/ WTF!? Baby scare story!
In the Herald today: AN INVESTIGATION has been launched into a “very unusual” spike in deaths among newborn babies in Scotland for the second time in just six months. The alarm was raised after 18 infants died within four weeks of birth in March, causing the mortality rate to breach an upper warning threshold known as the ‘control limit’ which signals a potential problem. https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/20137268.investigation-launched-amid-second-unusual-spike-neonatal-deaths-scotland/ In particular we read for late 2021 and early 2022: In July 2020, we read: for this data: Note that in 2017 when there was no pandemic, it twice reached more than 6 per 1000, approached 6 … Continue reading Baby scare story!
Tories don’t demand answers for £5.5 BILLION ‘banana skin’
The Scottish Cons have referred to the Calmac ferry delays as a £250 million ‘banana skin.’ The UK Cons, in sharp contrast and of course in government, had no such term for a £5.5 BILLION MOD contract with NO date for completion. By stewartb ‘Initiated in 2011: ‘Ajax represents the biggest single order for a UK armoured vehicle in more than 20 years. The Department has a £5.522 billion firm-priced contract with General Dynamics Land Systems UK (GDLS-UK) for the design, manufacture and initial in-service support of 589 vehicles’. This NAO report is the latest in a series highly critical … Continue reading Tories don’t demand answers for £5.5 BILLION ‘banana skin’
BBC Scotland say it’s a union only if it’s working-class?
A trade union has written to every politician representing the Scottish Borders to highlight “dangerous staffing levels” in local hospitals. Unison claims serious breaches of safety guidelines are occurring daily due to a lack of nurses, auxiliaries and porters. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-south-scotland-61431190 Notice they’ve added nurses even through they don’t represent them? The BMA and the royal colleges of nurses and surgeons are trade unions for doctors, nurses and surgeons but they’re never presented as such. We hear, instead, claims from a ‘leading doctor’ or ‘nurses’ or ‘top surgeon’, but this is a claim from Unison who represent the porters and the … Continue reading BBC Scotland say it’s a union only if it’s working-class?
Child poverty in Scotland half the rate of England due to SNP actions
action to meet targets – that’s according to MSPs on Holyrood’s Health and Social Care Committee. No doubt they’ll claim it was a very short report with no time for any meaningful context or actual evidence for the headline claim but that’s just an excuse for bias. It’s not clear how the story got to the BBC but Sandesh Gulhane is on the committee and always keen to leak. What did the story miss and need to be good journalism? Well, first, this: Child poverty in Scotland is at half the rate of England. Why? Two reasons. More affordable housing … Continue reading Child poverty in Scotland half the rate of England due to SNP actions
What’s worse: 2 ferries delayed or 6 destroyers no bl**dy use as Russia threatens?
As the Scottish MSM continue to feast on the delayed Calmac ferry story, reader Alex Montrose suggests: An article comparing to ferry debacle to the destroyer debacle? 2 ferries in Port Glasgow running late and over budget set against 6 destroyers tied up in Portsmouth awaiting new propulsion systems. and shares this from the Portsmouth Times: ALL six of the Royal Navy’s state-of-the-art Type 45 destroyers are currently docked in port, at a time of heightened tensions with Russia. https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/defence/all-six-of-the-navys-destroyers-are-in-port-amid-on-going-tension-with-russia-3558275 stewartb then fills in the detail: The Ferguson ferries situation and comparing this to MoD/Royal Navy fleet management: Source: House … Continue reading What’s worse: 2 ferries delayed or 6 destroyers no bl**dy use as Russia threatens?
