From the Metro yesterday: A new ferry service linking Scotland and France for the first time could set sail in just a few a months. The route, from Rosyth to Dunkirk, nicknamed ‘Project Brave’, was first proposed in 2022, but stalled in 2025. Funding issues, as well as the need to build a new border control facility at Rosyth, to allow the processing of food and drink, halted the project. Reposted today as despite media scare stories it still holds. Not even one one report of a flooded home – I wonder why? Surely not Scottish Government investment in flood defences?

From the actual state government of Massachusetts: The Seabrook Nuclear Power Station (“Seabrook”) is located in Seabrook, New Hampshire. The area that is approximately 10 miles around Seabrook is called the Emergency Planning Zone (EPZ). Massachusetts communities in the EPZ are: Amesbury, Merrimac, Newbury, Newburyport, Salisbury, and West Newbury. Incidents of physical violence and aggression by patients against staff in Scotland are falling and are significantly lower than in England

In the Guardian today: NHS trusts in England recorded at least 295,711 alleged incidents of physical violence and aggression by patients against staff in England between 2022 and 2025, the Guardian has found. Responses to freedom of information (FoI) requests from 212 trusts showed the number of incidents reported by staff rose sharply over the three years, 91,175 in 2022-23 to 104,079 in 2024-25. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2026/jan/11/how-common-violence-against-nhs-staff-england-prevention-safeguards Directly comparable figures for Scotland can be problematic but were they higher per head and rising, you know that would be all over ‘our’ media.
