From Housing statistics: Scottish Landlord Register data Published 27 October 2026 the above show a decline in the number of landlords but an increase in the number of properties available to rent. https://www.gov.scot/publications/scottish-landlord-register-data/
How has this been reported in ‘out’ media?

Funny that, owner associations claim they have fewer properties to let yet official figures say they have more. What could they and their media chums be up to?

ACC is presumably Aberdeen City Council? The “loss” is estimated rents from empty/vacant council
property.
Shelter Scotland say we need at least 15,693 social homes each year. (Seems an overly precise estimate to me.)
Not sure about the Scottish Gov numbers, but that 6,000 seems to be the broad annual average since 2011, while the target for 2024-2032 is 110,000, which sort of makes some sense of that Shelter Scotland number.
The 17,000 by builders seems to be 13,600 new homes plus another 3,500 new social sector homes.
