They say when you compare your opponent to ‘Hitler’, you’ve lost the argument. Is it the same with billionaire bus owners, The McGill Bros, calling John Swinney ‘Amin or Mugabe?’
It’s easy rebutted. How can it be dictatorial when, based on a 2024 YouGov poll, 66% support the nationalisation of bus companies? That was up from 50% in 2017. Two other polls in the last 5 years say the same thing. Savanta in 2023, had 67% and even 61% of Tories. YouGov in 2026, had the same 66%, across all the parties.
That’ll be a clear case of the settled will of the people, then.
You’d think the many wee researchers at BBC Scotland would have found the above too. Well, maybe not.
Anyheil, just two dictators, John? They must like you.

Wait, I’ve remembered something. This:

Well Adolf was an Aryan, or so he claimed. Perhaps the McGill brothers think an African dictator a more appropriate insult being leaders of former British colonies?
Also the usual slur is “a Mugabe style land grab” when he reallocated some land back to the native inhabitants from whom it had been grabbed by white settlers.
In our case both settlers and natives are white. Expect more Mugabe insults when the Land Bill gets to Holyrood.

Wings Over Scotland ran a dictator bingo card during the 2014 referendum lead up with around 20 infamous characters from history, from Hitler to Pol Pot and Idi Amin. They gradually all got crossed out as Alex Salmond was compared to almost all of them them by our ‘Scottish’ and British media.
The British really can just fuck off out of Scotland.

Those angry billionaire bus owners , Easedales , must be furious that their £300,000 bung to Scottish (sic) Labour before the Holyrood election didn’t bear fruit .
Their bung to Labour would have nothing to do with their failure in March to get a subsidy from the Scotgov. (£4.3m ) which went to rival companies instead and their subsequent legal action against Sctogov. ? Hence their attempt to swing the Holyrood election in May in favour of Labour ?
They have also started legal proceedings against Scotgov. claiming breaches of the awards process , despite receiving awards of £8.6m and £1.2m from that unfair Scotgov.
Toys out of the pram ?
