The Guardian today, above, 20 years since women workers in the century-long Labour Party-run council first took it to court over unequal pay for equal work.

Then less than two years after the SNP took over control of the Council, the above.
Readers will already know that to pay the women workers a fair wage and to keep ‘the ship afloat’ in terms of services and council tax increases, some council functions dominated by men workers will have to face a pay reduction. Thanks to a Labour’s council’s decades-long, deep-rooted misogyny and incompetence, the current SNP council has no choice.
The big issue, is will the media hide Labour’s guilt and try to pass it on to the SNP?
In 2019, the Guardian referred to Labour, twice but in the 2026 report today, the term ‘Labour’ does not appear once while the SNP leadership of the Council is mentioned twice.
History is being re-written as Labour struggles to be reborn under Andy Burnham.
Will the media hide Labour’s guilt and try to pass it on to the SNP? Looks like it.

The great journalist, John Pilger said of the Guardian it’s a ‘pretendy lefty’ paper.
It’s incredibly biased against the SNP, not a good look, and I don’t know how anyone with any integrity can write for them.
