At 31 August 2026, there were an estimated 588,073 individuals on at least one new outpatient, inpatient or day case waiting list. You can see from the line graphs above that, in just two years, out-patient waits of over 52 weeks have been slashed by more than three quarters from over 60 000 to less than 14 000 and that inpatient/day waits have been more than halved from just under 40 000 to under 16 000.
