These people have vested interests, are ‘company men’, and are not impartial nor are they ‘experts’ in the sense of being researchers in higher education.
Does this BBC report accurately reflect recent impartial academic research on their suggestion of a potential crisis and the likelihood of rubbish piling up on the streets?
That language is stronger than the most recent official analyses. Zero Waste Scotland (working with SLR Consulting for the Scottish Government) published updated energy-from-waste and landfill-capacity assessments in 2025–2026. Those studies do identify a capacity gap of roughly 0.36–0.53 million tonnes in 2026 under different recycling and self-sufficiency scenarios, note that most remaining landfills plan to close in 2025–27, and warn that the Scottish incinerator fleet has little spare headroom. They explicitly state that a prolonged unplanned shutdown of a large plant would require either export or temporary emergency landfilling. Glasgow City Council, which is using a mix of other incinerators and the remaining landfill, states it currently has enough outlets and that collections should continue as normal. “looming crisis”
Meanwhile in Labour run Birmingham there is a real actual ongoing “crisis” via a prolonged unresolved Bin strike, which has been running since January 2025.
Maybe these “Experts” should try speaking to the residents of Birmingham who I am sure would tell them to “0121 do one” (Telling someone to get lost using Birmingham’s telephone area code).
The BBC loves generating rubbish stories concerning Scotland as they think that any old garbage is worth promoting if it presents Scotland in a bad light and so being seen as #S****.
Most of the ‘Experts’ they find are a waste of space and they always seem to want to dump their S**** observations upon us constantly, to then make Scotland look so very #bad as well as also trying to make the SNP (as the Scottish government) appear to be #BAD as well.
I am just glad that many people within Scotland refuse to watch or listen to the BBC as much of the public can obviously see that most of their BBC news output, (badly) disguised as real news, is nowt more than junk news.
BBC news equals trash TV that contaminates and pollutes the supposed , but clearly not, “News where you are”.

BBC Scotland = A propaganda outfit. It is nothing more.
For anyone still paying the £180, cancel the licence, get what you can back from them, but don’t break the rules regarding watching Live Streaming TV and I-Player.
Any letters you get from the TV Licensing put straight into the bin, they are computer generated threats to try and “make” you pay them. The upside right enough is that their letters help keep the posties in a job.
Believe me, you will certainly feel the better for it and so will your finances.

Mind you other so called ‘news’ channels give the BBC a run for it’s money in them also having various supposed neutral ‘Experts’ on their programmes too, as well as also having some questionable guests who are supposed to be seen, by viewers, as all being politically impartial aka neutral.
They all, as TV news programmes (like the BBC), also have a (bad and repeated) habit of not calling a spade a spade.
This morning Susannah Reid from ITV’s GMB said:
“Our main news at just after 6 o’clock – the anti migrant activist known as Danny Tommo has apparently been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage with intent to endanger life”.
“apparently” equals he was actually arrested.
“suspicion of” well we all saw the video online so it was as clear as day what his true intentions were via his criminal actions, surely ?
So yet another supposed UK TV ‘news’ programme, like all other UK TV ‘news’ programmes, failing to to highlight that Tommo is a low life far right thug.
SKY News today also stated an incorrect term for him:
“Anti-migrant protester Danny Tommo arrested after boat with emergency worker on damaged in Channel”.
The BBC , not to be left out from this stream of news disinformation, also had this story on their website too in relation to Danny Tommo:
“Anti-migrant activist arrested over video of dinghy slashing”
In (falsely) calling him an “activist” or “protestor” they then are somehow legitimising all of the disgusting things that he both says and does.
This then , for some gullible and impressionable viewers , helps to justify the unjustifiable and so then defend the indefensible in all of Tommo’s horrendous actions and hateful words .
So basically TV news presenters and other media using false descriptions for those whose main role and mission, as far right thugs, seems to be to regurgitate a constant stream of hate which then leads onto both them and others committing (what should be seen as) illegal acts of cruelty and lawlessness against others, as in those others who are clearly less fortunate and so less able to defend themselves.
So I also wonder when was it that hordes of vigilantes acting like thugs were accepted as being those who were acting legally and so then legitimately in England via English law ?
So what has Burnham, the UK PM. said on this latest act of odious vigilante behaviour ?
Not sure , as this slashing of the dinghy in the English channel happened on the 22 September and Burnham’s ‘X’ account did post on the 22 September and also he had added subsequent posts to that date – but not about this odious vigilante behaviour via Tommo.
Turning a blind eye to hate then , so no “change” there then from another Labour UK PM.

I can send them some photos of some Edinburgh streets where rubbish and recycling is literally being allowed to ‘pile up’ on the streets, all because the English controlled council (!) is deliberately wrecking the city, oh and it’s happening in tourist areas btw…anyone could be forgiven for believing the capital city of Scotland is a dump with no money and no respect for the people..hmm. They’d be correct and it’s all happening at the hands of the BritNat English council. Not to mention the closing of major streets in and out of the city, on route to a major hospital so as to repave streets that do NOT need repaving. Contracts???

When I read ”Scotland’s waste sector ” I automatically thought they were referring to the industrial amounts of sh*te produced by BBCScotlandshire and the , so-called Scottish Daily Express and Scottish Daily Mail etc…
