I could not sleep waiting for this result. 😉

Yes, yes but:

Indeed but sadly, I do, quite a bit having, sadly again, written about him a few times here. Here’s the latest from February 2026, to give you a flavour of the man, sour of course.

I know it has a tiny audience, but Michael Marra of ‘Scottish’ Labour had a rant on BBC Scotland’s Debate Night, 19 February 2026, of such hysterical dishonesty and fear for the near extinction event they face in May , I felt obliged to respond.

We have the fastest A&E departments, other than that one long waiting list for non life-threatening conditions, wheeled out every time, we have the shortest and falling waiting lists for all procedures, for cancer, heart and mental health treatment. We have target-busting treatment for drug and alcohol abuse, IVE, and for mental health treatment for children and adolescents.

We have the fastest ambulance response times, more doctors, nurses, midwives, GPs and beds.

We have lost not one day to industrial action in our hospitals.

We train twice as many nurses, per head, and we pay them to train.

We have the cleanest hospitals with the lowest current Sepsis rate and had the lowest Covid deaths due to far lower hospital acquired infections.

A similar response could be done for crime and education in Scotland but I’ll save that for their next outburst as their fate – near extinction – looms even closer.

  1. If only we had a Scottish Media operating in Scotland, yo pick up & challenge these utter charlatans whenever they come out with this drivel.

Unfortunately, instead we have a foreign owned & controlled media operating in Scotland, who’s only reason for existing is yo fight for the unionist cause, and attack the very idea that our future lies away from westminster, & belongs at the heart of Europe.

  2. Oh your posts are so encouraging, thank you. Having just depressed myself with a podcast about the possibility of AI exterminating the human race, that was just what I needed

  3. The unionists spend money on illegal wars, financial fraud and tax evasion. Trident and redundant weaponry. HS2, Hickley Point etc. A total waste of monies. Instead of healthcare. The waste so much monies that could be put to better use.

The Tories did not increase NHS funding for ten years. They spent £270Billion funding Covid over two years.

The Scottish Gov fund health & social care £22Billion. A third of government spending.

  4. I think it is of note that the “POLITICS” section of the main BBC website makes no mention of the election of a new leader of ‘Scottish’ Labour.

There are two pieces on the Scotland page.

Mr Marra indirectly admits that Labour has been oppositionist for the past 19 years, when he says it will engage in the budget process as the Greens and Lib Dems ( and, indeed, the Tories under Annabel Goldie) do and get legislation they are interested in approved. This is a Parliament which Donald Dewar set up so as to be unlikely to have a single party majority and would thus require interparty collaboration to pass legislation, such as the budget. And Labour, after all this time, has decided to collaborate. Has someone told Jackie Baillie, opposer in chief?

  5. In 17 over 20,000 votes were cast in a Labour leadership election, in this one, less than 7000, Labour’s dying a slow death.
