There is no standalone “drink-spiking” offence in Scots law. Police record relevant cases mainly as the common-law crime of drugging (feloniously administering a substance with intent to stupefy) or, less often, as administering a substance for sexual purposes (Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009, s.11).
