BBC website top story on their Scotland page this morning 7 September 2026:

“Swinney’s £2 cap on bus fares kicks in – but some call it ‘half a solution’”.

So yet again the same old BBC.

So whenever the Scottish government intend to do something to try to help people, then instead of the BBC just writing a positive piece upon this, well what do we get instead ?

We get the BBC including the now all too familiar addition of the words “but some ” , that is whenever they, the BBC, try to cast negativity, doubt and suspicion upon any action being taken by the Scottish government.

On the Scottish politics page they have another article on this same story with a different headline that is also negative (as in overkill as per usual output via the BBC) that states:

“Electric bus operator concerned about ‘slogan’ £2 fare cap”.

So then what headlines did the same BBC have when Burnham introduced this same initiative in England ?

Well on 22 July 2026 there was this BBC headline on that story:

“Most bus fares in England to be capped at £2 from January”

(Note there is no “but some” in that headline).

Also on that same story on same date there was another headline:

“Burnham says £2 bus fare cap in England being paid for by ‘re-prioritising’ money”

(Note there is no “concerned” bus operator noted in that headline).

Also that second BBC article on this happening in England it states that apparently with Burnham introducing this scheme for England then “there will be extra funding for Scotland, Wales & NI – though they’re not obliged to introduce the same policy”.

Scotland has indeed now decided to introduce this cap but that is now being attacked by the BBC (where yet again the BBC have found those people who have negative comments to contribute upon this being done initially within certain places in Scotland).

I say that they BBC have found those people but more likely the BBC sought them out.

So yet again the rule is that when Scotland , via it’s government , does anything constructive or positive to try to help people during the cost of living crisis , be it a cap on bus fares or the Scottish child payment then that is not to be presented by the BBC as being good and positive “news where you are”.

Instead there is always another (negative) angle that the BBC takes – where they always find detractors to any and all positive and good news that comes from Scotland, or alternatively they just try to either diminish or ignore any positive and good news (as they have seemed to try to do with the Scottish child payment via the Scottish government).

A two tier (pro) UK media that exists within the UK State where they , as a (pro) UK media, are mostly all rabidly negative and hostile towards the SNP and also towards Scotland.

Hence the succession of #SNPBAD and #ScotlandIsS**** headlines that we always read and hear via them as the (pro) UK media.

That’s why Scotland needs to get out of the UK State , as we in Scotland are being swamped with constant (pro) UK State propaganda.

This deluge of (pro) UK State propaganda is being delivered by mostly all of the (pro) UK media , who as a (pro) UK media, are obviously politically compromised with their allegiance to specific (pro) UK political parties but they are also compromised by their support for the UK State remaining intact (as in to still include Scotland within it).

This is client journalism at work.

That client journalism exists within their corrupt UK State to only benefit the financial , business and political interests of those individuals and companies who own all of the politically compromised UK State media.

It , as a media, does not exist to serve the public or inform and educate us.

In fact MSM news instead is often seen to fail to deliver truth and honesty, it often misinforms us and so then also tries to maintain a level of ignorance of the full facts , the full details and also the relevant and significant context of many news stories.

That’s why there is such a backlash against most of the MSM, more so the BBC, as the BBC are most certainly an organisation who are institutionally biased, especially when it comes to them reporting news in relation to Scotland as a country and also upon our Scottish politics.
