What on earth is the point in this? Does Aberdeen do a Masters in Murder now? Talk about scraping a barrel.

How do we know they met in Aberdeen? AI can find not a trace of them in Abderdeen.

Lewisham and Aberdeen have similar populations, 300 000 and 227 000 but very different homicide rates, 11 in Lewishasm last year compared to only 4 in Aberdeen, 1.7 and 3.7 per 100 000 respectively.

In the whole world only Norway has a murder rate just lower than Scotland after 19 years of evidence-based and joined up policy initiatives back by funding from a government that listens to professional and academic opinion

Uganda? 9 per 100 000.

Essentially, this story is about a resident of Glasgow who had attended Aberdeen University who had travelled to London to meet a friend who also had studied at Aberdeen and who lived in north London. They went to a pub/restaurant in South east London and in an altercation outside the venue a man died.

    I know the two areas of London pretty well, especially Lewisham, which has a large population of people from Nigeria and the restaurant specialises in Nigerian cuisine.

    In the census of 2021, Lewisham had a majority of people who were not English-born and whose first languages were other than English. The largest group in the population of the borough is white English-born people whose first language is English. It is a very multicultural community with residents from other parts of the UK (such as my daughter and her partner – Glaswegians), from countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas, and, I dare say, from Australasia.

    So, if an event, such as an alleged manslaughter, occurs in Lewisham, it can be connected via one or two individuals to any country in the world!

    My wife and I, while staying for a short while in the part of north London where one of the two accused lives, used to go to a coffee shop in the Main Street after we’d got our shopping. It was a pleasant, sociable place and people got drawn into general conversations amongst all the customers at the time. It was usually a mix of people from various parts of the World, and on more than one occasion other customers would comment on how well we spoke English, although we had odd accents! This was despite the fact that we were the only ones present whose first language was English(Scots).

  2. F*ck , now even the National , a supposedly Independence-minded newspaper , is acting like a unionist propaganda unit against Scotland.

    Makes you wonder what the thinking is in the minds of the staff .

    We expect the usual suspects to malign and denigrate Scotland at every turn , but The National ? But of course it is owned by the same outfit that publishes The Herald !

    1. Been saying this for a few years now. The ‘National’ is no friend of the SNP in fact I’d say it’s mostly anti SNP, looking at their front pages on the shop shelves. It’s more pro Labour imho. I try to watch their ‘news’ on Youtube they have a channel, just to see what they are spouting, it’s supposed pro independence stance is often not that evident. The Herald group is a BritNat organisation so…and they are HQ’d in London are they not.

    “masked men” and then according to the BBC they were holding a “protest“.

    More like thugs on the loose disguising themselves but why ?

    What’s that saying again “if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck” etc etc

    Hey BBC why not say it like it really is .

    The article states:

    “Hundreds of protesters, dressed in black and wearing face coverings, blocked roads and were heard chanting “stop the boats”.

    “Traffic was stopped from going in and out of the port, with the government saying it condemned “the behaviour in Dover and the travel disruption it has caused”.

    “Kent Police, which made no arrests, moved the crowd from the port to Dover Priory railway station at about 11:30 BST and said “all involved had dispersed by 12:00”.

    “made no arrests” ?

    ” (UK) government saying it condemned the behaviour” ?

    Oh really , so then it’s really lucky for them, those masked men, that none of them at Dover were seen holding up placards supporting Palestine Action and so then condemned as being “Terrorists” by that same UK government , also then I am sure there would definitely have been arrests made by Kent police.

    Since July of last year, British police have arrested over 3,000 people for expressing support for the group Palestine Action.

    Meanwhile today at Dover hundreds of masked men all dressed in black caused major disruptions to transport but all the police did was just move them on to a railway station also in Dover

    I remember when Just Oil protestors , who also organised protests, brought part of the M25 to a standstill – five of them were jailed.

    The Crime and Policing Act 2026 now states that wearing a face covering on a march or protest can now lead to an immediate arrest, but only if the police have officially designated the area as a “no-mask zone.

    I guess Kent Police do not consider Dover as an potential problem area for any ‘protest’, which is strange as I am sure that it has been reported many times as a hot spot for thugs and Idiots to often stand with placards that want to “Stop the Boats”.

    England now appears to have rules for some (thugs) and rules for others (peaceful and justified protestors) when it comes to what is regarded as ‘protests’ , though really who looks and sounds far more threatening ?

    The UK State is ducked and cannot now be salvaged.

  4. Racist news report. So wrong on so many levels. Drink was involved. They did not mean to kill.

    Blair’s 24 drinking hours, causing more murders. Westminster racism causing more disorder. Brexit losing £Billions. Thugs Johnston, Farage et al. . Complete and utter crooks. They should be in jail. Embezzlers inciting murder.

    Johnston (austerity) and Farage (criminal). Only got elected because of criminal payments. Gerrymandering lying. They should be in jail.

  5. Tighter licensing Laws, increased rehab facilities, abused women getting legal aid. Murder could be eliminated in Scotland. Murders committed under the influence of alcohol and drug. Most crime is committed by males under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
