“Why might BBC Scotland snub the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce’s big news about Scotland leading the UK”?

Well I think we all know , it’s because when it comes to any good and/or positive news connected to Scotland against any less good and/or less positive news elsewhere within the UK then the golden rule is that it, as good/positive news for Scotland, shall never be reported in the supposed ‘news where we are’ . (just as it also being suppressed as news if it is not so good/positive for the rest of the UK).

That is sadly applicable for most UK media and also via all pro UK opposition politicians.

Indeed sometimes ( as in mostly) they even present false and misleading news and figures that show the opposite of good and positive that are connected to Scotland. (that is both the UK media and all of the pro UK politicians/parties)

Indeed in 2026 Anas Sarwar and Wes Streeting were both “rapped by the UK stats watchdog over claims about Scotland’s NHS that ‘risk misleading the public’”.

Also in 2026 there was this (again) on Anas Sarwar – “Anas Sarwar has given an “unequivocal apology” after a party leaflet was delivered to homes with a made-up quote from a maternity campaigner“

Then there was Thomas Kerr a Reform UK MSP – “Reform UK MSP Thomas Kerr shared incorrect crime figures that overstated Glasgow’s actual crime rate by about 70%”.

In 2022 Tories in Scotland – “The Scottish Conservatives faced heavy criticism and accusations of spreading false information after publishing a graphic claiming that Police Scotland officers were “on strike”.

In 2020 there was a large political gathering that the Lib Dem leader in Scotland , Alex Cole-Hamilton , held during the COVID-19 pandemic – “In August 2020, Alex Cole-Hamilton convened an outdoor public meeting at Gyle Park in Edinburgh that attracted around 1,000 attendees. He later asserted that he had received special permission or dispensation from the Scottish Government—specifically claiming it was green-lighted by the justice secretary—to breach lockdown rules “for the function of democracy. An investigation using Freedom of Information (FOI) requests found no record or evidence of any official dispensation“

(Sure the above examples are not an exhaustive list and also sure these misleading, fake and blatant lies will not end via the above mentioned sources).

As to the BBC in Scotland – well they hide away their (too) many faux pas in a section on their website called ‘Corrections and clarifications’. However it always seems to be that when they make a supposed mistake on communicating any Scottish political news in respect to the SNP – then it is always a supposed mistake that seems to politically disadvantage either the Scottish government or the SNP as a party.

( BTW newspapers distributed in Scotland also have corrections and clarifications sections noted in respect to some utter S**** that they have previously printed in their rags – but these gaffes are not given the same prominence as the original guff that they printed – instead it is hidden away in a small (tiny) section , so then very easily missed by the readers).

So then my having written the above examples does then surely make it all too clear as to why the likes of BBC Scotland (and other media and other sources too) might always choose to snub news like for example “the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce’s big news about Scotland leading the UK”.

As why give real factual news when you can just keep misinforming the public with any old S**** – if they’re lucky then they may even get away with it , that is if no one complains, so then the guff they said or wrote may be believed by those members of the public gullible enough to assume that everything they hear and read is factually 100% true.
