Above at 9.52pm last night, Police Scotland tell the bitter-for-some truth about the Cairngorm wildfire.
Undeterred, 12 hours later, the schadenfreude lot in the newspapers reporting Scotland badly are still telling the news that’s no longer of any use to you, helping to remind you why they’re all going down a sheuch like the ones being dug around Nethy Bridge.

Isn’t it not sad. The weather has rained on their parade

I not that when Scotland is being told ( by the English Media ) to ask for help from the UK Military , it is phrased as if we in Scotland were NOT entitled to use their services , even though we pay through the nose for them !
It is suggested that the UK Military being used is , somehow , an act of Charity from the UK /England to us poor Scots rather than an entitlement .

BBC Scotland updated their website about 3 pm with a quote from Wee Dougie that he’s “worked at speed” with the Defence Secretary:
Of course, the military don’t have trained pilots to use bambi buckets so the SFRS is rightly using private hires. There aren’t many trained pilots in the UK who can do this.
As to the battalions standing by – same problem – training, equipment, access to the site all required. The SFRS already have the trained staff, c 6,000 on standby.

Scotland pays £5Billion+ for the military. (Defence). 180,000 military personnel. 10,000 based in Scotland. (Should be 18,000). Scotland has to pay for Trident, redundant weaponry, Never gets delivered. More procurement is ordered. A total waste of money.
Illegal wars and destruction.
An Independent Scotland could afford a few helicopters. Brexit Scotland lost £Billions and shared military costs with EU.
