Ignoring the calm reassurances of the Minister, informed by Fire and Police chiefs, they have rather let locals blame the Scottish Government directly for perceived failures such as not having ‘our own’ aircraft or not calling in the army quicker. That no fire authority anywhere in the UK has its own aircraft and that the Scottish Government cannot ‘call in‘ the army is not mentioned.

It’s not clear how many Nethy Bridge residents actually fled. The angry ones blaming the Scottish Government all seemed to have stayed to be filmed there.
