Your world today is quite different than the one BBC Scotland constructs for you

Four out of seven top stories might suggest you live in an increasingly violent world in Scotland today but things have changed, a lot, after nearly 20 years of centre-left/protecting public services as opposed to centre-right/cutting public services, politics.

  1. Homicide
In the whole world only Norway has a murder rate just lower than Scotland after 19 years of evidence-based and joined up policy initiatives back by funding from a government that listens to professional and academic opinion

2. youth violence

The real news – More important than reported knife possession by far – murder by stabbing halved in six years, hospital stabbing admissions down by one-third and teen victims of murder plummet to only one-fifth of that in 2008

3. Rape

Always choosing the darkness for you – BBC Scotland give you one rape and hide both that it’s TWICE as common in the rest of the UK and that resident doctors are NOT on strike here

4. Child abuse

Child abuse – Labour and Conservative history of neglect, even sickening collusion – As ‘Scottish’ Labour MPs now attempt to help Starmer by calling for a pointless grooming inquiry here how the SNP’s Named Person Scheme which they u-turned on could have saved thousands in England

5. Domestic abuse

Shock as proportionally 4 times as many children in England & Wales face domestic abuse compared to Scotland but UK Labour have no real plan to deal with that

    “And the news in Scotland tonight, is brought to you from our London studio”…blah, blah….

    Don’t know what the broadcast unions are doing. BBC staff in Scotland are being laid off, while more and more of our licence fee moneys are going to journalists in Manchester and London.

  2. Well the controversial state broadcaster sure is not getting any of my money.

    If and only if, they remove their bias against Scotland, its government and its people, will I ever consider watching the BBC again.

    Sorry Pacific Quay about all the redundancies heading your way, but you brought it all upon yourselves as far as I am concerned.

Western nations are now blaming teenagers for their countries’ legalised complicity in failing to constrain ‘Big Tech’ and social media companies. And what was Macron doing as a 15 year old teenager (https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/nov/19/the-macrons-are-an-exception-my-teachers-seduction-scarred-me)?  What utterly disgusting hypocrisy. And  ‘Big Tech’ and social media companies continue to act with legally eased impunity.

    Is this a dream, a nightmare or a parallel Universe?

    Waking up today to the news that the so called leader of Labour in Scotland , Anas Sarwar, who in the last Scottish election in May lost badly , is now to become a minister in Andy Burnham’s government and also apparently take up a seat in the House of Lords.

    ( Scottish Labour won just 17 seats out of 129 in the Scottish Parliament elections in May).

    So is this how the Sunday Mail thinks that Andy Burnham will be “delivering for Scotland” ?

    (When last Sunday their front page headline was “Burnham” I’ll deliver for Scotland”).

    What is he delivering ?

    A carefully planned stitch up with Sarwar.

    The same Sarwar who had previously demanded that Keir Starmer resign.

    Was this to help make way for Andy perhaps and now Sarwar is being rewarded ?

    A reward for Sarwar’s failure in the Scottish elections or a reward for helping to clear the way for Burnham’s coronation as the new Labour leader and so then the new Labour UK PM ?

    Surely this confirms that Burnham is no better than Starmer.

    It is just like Ruth Davidson who also abandoned Scottish politics to then get a place in the upper chamber of WM, as she too was rewarded for failure as she too never won any elections in Scotland nor won any at a UK WM level in Scotland.

    It’s the UK way though is it not.

    So I hope that more people in Scotland finally wake up to the fact that this new Labour boss is absolutely no different to the recent old boss,

    Nor indeed is he , Burnham, any different to any previous Tory bosses , as just like all of the other previous UK PM’s of all parties, he has decided to ignore the fact that Scotland rejected his so called leader in Scotland in a recent election in him choosing to reward that so called Labour leader in Scotland with a peerage and also a role in his Labour UK government.

    Of course we also will have yet another dose of hypocrisy from Sarwar, if , that is , he does indeed accept a peerage from Burnham, as this was what he said once about the HOL’s:

    “The House of Lords, in its current form, as an institution has no place in 21st-century politics. It is unacceptable, and has been for far too long, to have unelected representatives wielding such power.”

    I agree Anas, in fact if Burnham does make you, as a Peer and also a Minister in his government then that means you will become an “unelected representative wielding power.” (power that you don’t deserve to have).

    As to Burnham well it looks as if he plans to continue to fill the HOL’s with more “unelected representatives wielding power.”. (over Scotland and so then against Scotland).

    So basically the new boss, Burnham, is the (exact) same as the old boss , Starmer, and therefore that means, as we all anticipated and and also predicted , that there will be , yet again, no change for Scotland , or rather there will be more of the same.

    ( Indeed Sarwar’s new appointment and his potential peerage is yet another UK insult to the Scottish people and so then yet another undemocratic act that disrespects Scotland and it’s people).

    I mean it does beg the question to be asked of even more people within Scotland , which is , are you YES yet ? (or NOW) ?

    1. I’m going to get that Sarwar will readily accept that freebie peerage and take the £300+++ a day for the rest of his grifting life.
      These people are lying cheats, the branch of office of the English Labour party operating in Scotland paid huge sums from the public purse to lie to the people of Scotland as are the other British England parties. Even when the people of Scotland rejects them they are rewarded by their English bosses.
      Let’s get out of the so called UK it’s bad for Scotland, on so many levels. 😥
