I doubt they checked with James on the above image, making all-too-clear, the Scottish context for this debate. He managed to mention the UK Government twice but did not tell us what the Scottish Government position is on these two fields.
Of course, neither he nor the BBC team in Burnhamland, will be telling anyone, far less Scots, this:

There appears to be quite a large BBC contingent on Jackdaw today. I’m curious to know if they all had to do their HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) or did they get a dispensation?

Don’t forget that Westminster stole Scottish North Sea waters as well:

Even ‘AI’ (GPT-5.4) struggled with the proposition that much of the east coast of Scotland almost reaching Forfar (56°38’37.75″N) looks out at English waters according to Westminster. But it finally informed me that the Jackdaw gas field is twenty miles from English waters: “Using Jackdaw’s coordinates (56°54′3.73″N, 2°22′50.73″E) and the Schedule 2 boundary polyline in the Scottish Adjacent Waters Boundaries Order 1999, the closest distance is about 32 km (~20 miles).” And there I was thinking that Jackdaw might be an English, not Scottish, carbon emissions problem even if it is nearly at the same latitude as Stonehaven 🙂

So what’s his and their point, BBC/UK/EngGov are what, attempting to confirm their claim to Scotland’s resources again? Just so you know Scotland, it’s NOT YOUR OIL AND GAS OKAY!
Thieves, Scotland’s vast oil and gas reserves have been and are being stolen by England, to the tune of hundreds of £billions. It’s what colonisers do.
