Rupert Lowe , an English Nationalist , has now created a new party that he has called ‘Restore Britain‘.
Reading his many daily posts on ‘X’ you will see how often he sees England and English as the same as Britain and Britishness , as for him there seems to be no distinction between the two.
Yesterday he wrote (yet another) long post about Councils , Reform UK ones, “spending hundreds of thousands of pounds on foreign language translation”
He concluded his post in stating this:
“Let me be clear about Restore Britain’s position. We would scrap ALL foreign language translation/interpretation in the public sector. You live in England, you speak English. End of story. There is finally a political party willing to do what needs to be done. Restore Britain“.
So surely if it’s Restore Britain then why does he not write ‘ You live in Britain, you speak English‘ ?
Rupert Lowe , who was suspended by Reform UK as one of their elected MP’s, was one of the guest speakers at an event hosted by The Spectator in July 2025 that was called “How to save England”.
So not ‘How to save Britain’ or “restore” it or “reform” it , just “How to save England”.
The other guest speakers were Danny Kruger (who was still a Tory then before he defected to Reform UK) , Thomas Skinner an ex BBC Apprentice contestant and a Strictly Come Dancing contestant (now he is a Reform UK member as from January 2026) and also James Orr who, as from February 2026, became the Head of policy for Reform UK and he is also a senior adviser to Nigel Farage.
Lowe’s spoken contribution included an argument where he said that “the England of the past has been disregarded” and that the country needs a, “return to a lifestyle” that “emphasises traditional values”.
He also advocated for strict, “pro-English” policies. He then argued for a “Focus on ‘Patriotism”, where he argued for a “revival of national pride”, challenging the “perceived hesitancy of mainstream politicians” (in both Labour and Conservative parties) to openly “defend English identity”.
So it’s really a bit of a farce (lie) for Lowe to call his party Restore Britain when in reality the only country he obviously cares about is England , yet I am sure that he too, as an English politician, is also someone who sees England as being synonymous with Britain.
Also his party is called Restore Britain and so it too is also a party that seeks election within the UK State, so then if they were ever elected as a UK government they would not just be governing England , but through reserved powers they would also be governing the whole of the UK State. So why then would their duty be to “defend English identity” as a way to see a “revival of National pride” ?
Lowe is someone who also wants to see the parliament at Holyrood abolished (so then does he also want all of the other devolved parliaments to be abolished as well, including NI’s assembly ?) as he wants our nation(s) to all be totally controlled by WM , the English parliament , once again.
Now that might appeal to some within Scotland who say that they are “proud” to be Scottish but apparently it really seems that they are more “proud” to be British (English), but that being the case would they also then seek to “defend English identity” , while simultaneously seeking to suppress any pride or sense of identity in anyone in Scotland defending their Scottish identity (first and foremost)?
On the plus side it does seem that Lowe’s party will help split the right wing vote in subsequent elections, which will then hurt Reform UK, so a win win for us who do not ever want an even more right wing English Nationalist party to govern the UK, bad enough when we had both Labour and the Tories doing it as UK governments……in them both conflating Britain with England and both of them mostly defending , celebrating and so then investing in England .
Maybe best Scotland should start to prepare , and so set in motion, a path for us to depart from this disunited UK State that has descended into a hate filled corrupt State, one that is seeking to only promote, support , and so defend only one nation within it, and we all know what nation that is. (i.e. the nation who are the King makers at WM elections , who , through having a majority of allocated constituency seats, always then get to decide who governs the UK State at a UK government level).

I hope Rupert succeeds in restoring England. We can help. We must leave the union and let England get on with restoring itself. Just leave us alone Rupert.

sounds like an independent England is really what he needs.

BBC Politics Live posted this today:
“Andy Burnham said – “The time has come for a much bigger debate about how politics needs to change if it is to work properly for the north of England”
“Andy Burnham says Britain “has been on the wrong path” for 40 years”.
See what I mean about Labour’s position being similar to Restore Britain and Reform UK’s – where we have people like Andy Burnham wanting to change politics in Britain , so that it apparently works “properly” (more) for parts of England , which then he translates to be something that , for parts of England , is then to be somehow seen as being a British flaw.
(But somehow conveniently for him and his Labour party that is not the case for Scotland, as according to him and his party , well Scotland gains (far) too much from the UK State compared to England).
So basically his plan is to stand in a by-election in the North of England, try to win it and then stand in a future Labour leadership contest , which if he won that would then see him as the new Labour UK PM. However he has now set out his stall to fight for the North of England as according to him they are being left behind somehow.
Yet in respect to investment announcements by this new(ish) Labour UK government they have all mostly been both in and for England , including the North of England. So how much more does Andy Burnham want the North Of England to get and at whose expense ?
(As in who, as other Nations within the UK State, will end up losing out if we have a Burnham UK PM , who it seems wants to prioritise mostly the North of England , just as Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves have also done so far, via their UK government spending and government projects).
Burnham , speaking at the Great North Summit, had stated in his speech that he believed:
“This by-election is very necessary, in my view the time has come for a much bigger debate about how politics needs to change if it is to work properly for the North of England. Because it doesn’t, it doesn’t. And this is what we have got to focus on. People are losing faith in politics, more than anything that’s what people’s votes were saying on Thursday the 7 May. They deserve a bigger response than politicians have given them before. And that’s what I intend to provide in this by-election like no other. My core argument is this , Britain if you look at the last fifty years, Britain has been on the wrong path. Forty years, forty years on the wrong path. A path that has damaged communities across the North . The deindustrialisation of the 1980’s was devastating for places across Makerfield, like Ashton in Makerfield , Orrell, Winstanley , Hindley, Platt bridge, but you know you could reel off the same place names in your communities. You know exactly what I am talking about, the draining away of economic, social, political power from these places. Left to drift that’s what happened. But that deindustrialisation was then compounded by deregulation , privatisation in the nineties and austerity in the 2010’s. It all adds up to forty years of neoliberalism that have not been kind to the North of England“.
So according to Burnham only in the North of England was there “deindustrialisation” and a “draining away of economic, Social, political power.
Plus he also noted austerity was only imposed upon them too, which he said happened in the 2010’s while conveniently ignoring the current austerity being imposed by his Labour party post 2024 as the new UK government.
As to political powers well we all know how devolved powers and money is being directed away from devolved governments and instead the Labour UK government, via a Downing Street memo, revealed that “UK ministers were instructed to bypass devolved governments to spend cash and deliver policies directly in these nations”.
Then of course we also have the joke that is the ‘UK Internal Market” where the UK government can constrain the powers of the Scottish Parliament. (Read online the” Internal Market Act 2020: position paper” via the Scottish government published on 3 April 2025.).
Burnham states all of these negatives for the North of England and also speaks about “Britain being on the wrong path for 40-50 years” yet in 2014 he came up to Glasgow and campaigned with the other Labour “Imperial Masters” to tell Scotland to say ‘No Thanks’ to leaving this apparent unfair and broken Britain that now , according to him, had been on the “wrong path for 40-50 years”.
Why did he want Scotland to stay a part of a Britain that he regarded to be on the wrong path ?
Well I say NO THANKS to Andy Burnham as it seems obvious that his (alleged) focus and concerns are only with England and not with any of the other nations within his UK State.
Time more people in Scotland finally woke up to the big UK con, that is the con that this so called ‘Union’ actually exists as a reality in practice, but where instead it is very much just a complete and utter false belief . (especially for nations like Scotland, Wales and NI).
