In the National today:
Scottish islanders fume as ‘lifeline’ food delivery removed off CalMac ferry. CALMAC has been warned that island communities are at “breaking point” after a hauler carrying needed perishable foods was “bumped” off a ferry for passengers allegedly for the “first time ever”.
OMG was that the last ferry for weeks and they’d run out of food in the shop?
Well, no, there’s a ferry every day at this time of year and five a week in winter.
It was cancelled on Tuesday this week, so with being ‘bumped’ on Wednesday, the shop had to last for two whole days.
They must go for longer during winter storms, surely.
So what are they going on about?
You know – election?
Is the ferry too wee?
Well, no the MV Clansman, 28 years old, takes 638 passengers and 80 to 90 vehicles.
What’s the island population?
650 to 700.
Whit!!! Who is paying for that? Is it the good folk of Slamannan?
So if they all decide to leave the island for a better life in, say Slamannan (sorry Slamanners), it’d take two trips? Shocking SNP neglect?

Another story made up by the BritNats, another SNP bad story sigh. I am finding that a few food goods are not available, especially those from abroad, in Europe and further afield. With all the nasty stuff going on re shipping etc…there is a risk to global food supply so I have read, mainly affecting poorer countries who can’t pay the tariffs etc, but we may see shortages in the coming months. As for Scotland, the suppliers etc won’t be in a hurry to get food etc to Scotland should any shortages take place, coming into the UK…
So the islands would be even more affected…the Brit state will be delighted, and if they take full control of Scotland, expect to sit in the cold with little choice in which foods you will be able to buy.
