  1. Is there any other ferry service in the entire UK that gets reported on national news every time one of their ships has a technical fault and has to cancel bookings?

  2. 100,000 islanders. 42 ferries. 4 on the way. 1 per 2,000+ islanders. They are not going back and forward all the time. It’s mainly visitors on holiday. They are not in a great hurry. Part of their holiday.

    Workman organise their trips. If there is a hold up or bad weather. They reorganise.

  3. Orkney is declared the best place to live in the world. People seem to like being there.

    £10,000 for a port visit. Subsidised ferries and flights. Air ambulances. Doctors are compensated for the elements. Good education. The islanders do well. Go to uni. Culture and the Arts. Literature and music. Some travel the world. Trading vessels. Merchant tankers. Oil & Gas industry.

    Renewables. Lewis recorded the highest wind turbine speed in the world. Fishing and farming. Subsidised crofts. Land buy outs.
