Satisfaction with local health services TWICE as high in Scotland and more so in rural areas to cast doubt on BMA Dr Kennedy’s politically motivated comments

From Scottish Household Survey 2024: Satisfaction with Local Health Services and Sport and Leisure Facilities, published today:

Across Scotland, the percentage of adults who said they were satisfied with the quality of local health services has fallen by 6 percentage points from 67% in 2023 to 61% in 2024. 69% of respondents living in Remote Rural areas said they were satisfied with the quality of local health services compared with 63% living in Large Urban Areas and 57% in Other Urban Areas.

From The King’s Fund, in April 2025:

31% of people in England were satisfied (“very” or “quite” satisfied) with local GP services in 2024. This is the lowest recorded level for GP services since the survey began in 1983, down from 34% in 2023, with dissatisfaction rising to 49%.

31% in England and 61% in Scotland, almost twice the level.

As for the higher level of satisfaction in rural parts of Scotland, is that what you hear much or is it more this kind of thing?

Rural patients at risk from ‘dangerous’ shortage of doctors – ATIENTS are at risk from a “dangerous” shortage of doctors in some areas with overstretched hospital departments “barely able to provide a service” due to vacancies, a medical leader has warned.

Who is that ‘medical leader‘, we wonder? Must be an NHS consultant or University research director, no?

No, it’s this trade union guy and part-time Highland GP:

  1. If the “Scottish” media report this it will be announce that satisfaction with NHS Scotland has “plummeted”, with Jackie Baillie/Sandesh Gulhane chrussing, ‘this is pure bad, so it is.’

Given the continual attacks on NHS Scotland in the media, such a decline is likely. However, the public are a bit more nuanced in their response. If asked about their specific local heath services, they are generally supportive. But when asked about services across Scotland they tend to reply negatively. The reason is clear. They have actual experience of their local service but the main source of information about the wider picture is the media.

Similarly, when asked about their local school, parents, by a large majority, speak favourably but tend to express doubts about schools in general.

  2. Since we are talking about the NHS…….

BBC website article added on today 11 October.

On main England page, it is now the third story, and local news page for Tees, now the second story….article only added on today 11 October !

It is on the BBC Home page , added today as an article, and already it is the ninth article but it is not on either the BBC UK main page nor is it on the UK Politics page…….

    The story ?

“Nurses penalised for trans complaint, says lawyer”

Yet again , on the ball , MSM Monitor posted this today:

“The Darlington NHS trans tribunal heard closing submissions today. What did we learn? That the BBC operates two different policies north and south of the border with respect to trans issues. It’s a political wall-to-wall circus in Scotland. Not so in England

The article on this by the BBC stated that:

NHS bosses “penalised” female nurses complaining about a transgender woman using their changing room, an employment tribunal has been told

Eight nurses are challenging a policy which allows the single-sex room at Darlington Memorial Hospital to be used by Rose Henderson, a biological male who identifies as a woman”.

“In closing submissions, the nurses’ barrister said they had suffered indirect discrimination, harassment and victimisation due to County Durham and Darlington NHS Trust’s Transitioning In The Workplace policy”

So once this is concluded will it be revisited over and over again by the BBC and other media , as in the same way as the Sandie Peggie case was within Scotland (and also elsewhere in the UK via other UK media).

Remember in Scotland this matter via the Nurse Sandie Peggie was very much well promoted and also very much politicised….by the BBC and also by many others as well.

The BBC did a multitude of articles upon the Sandie Peggie case in Scotland.

This Darlington case is focused on the Nurses and the respective Trust but what about the Politics ?

    What indeed.

  3. The moment we don’t have a truthful M.SM, with no one in authority interested in holding them to account, this is what will happen, and has been happening for countless years, but more so since it became apparent that Scotland was serious about becoming Independent. Oh they, the B.B.C, the greatest culprits, are in a stushie because of an error over Trump, resignations and allegations galore, but when it comes to Scotland, anything goes, with very rarely an apology, or retractions. So no matter the subject, S.N.H.S to ferries, any report, of course not only by the B.B.C, but by our so-called “Scottish” press, with the exception of the National, will be made to look as though our Government if failing, and in some cases, on legislation which is reserved to Westminster. But of course, that little detail will never be reported. If it’s not being economical with the truth, that’s me being polite, then it’s news by omission, a practice that our news media is guilty of most days of the week, that’s if it doesn’t suit their agenda. So not only do we face a battle against the Quisling’s in our midst working in open view for England/Westminster based political parties, we have a openly hostile media to contend with on a daily basis. If we ever mange to achieve our goal in the face of such opposition from a co-ordinated British State, who will use any dirty tricks to keep us under their control, for our riches course, then it will be nothing short of a miracle.

    1. Well said Alex.

Now how do we get that realisation and those truths, as a message, communicated to more people within Scotland and so then absorbed by them as a reality as in it being facts………

That’s the obstacle we face, where we either have those who deliberately avoid accepting these truths, as they are way too committed to still remaining within the UK State or those others who are either oblivious to reality and facts or are way too apathetic to even care enough to then vote against those who represent the UK State.

Next year’s Scottish elections will surely be a revelation in more ways than one.
