18 years of protection from fire, flood and now higher energy bills due to poor building standards

In the Guardian today, the above has no mention of Scotland but it’s clearly just a third reason why Scots should be glad to have avoided Conservative or Labour control for so long.

The other two reasons are fire and flood.

  1. Part true that SG and LAs have a better handle on energy transition, but the basis of the article in England as analysis by “thinktank” ECIU, is deeply and suspiciously flawed if not driven by the ‘look a squirrel” philosophy of a lad insane with power, JC himself – https://archive.ph/pxWUo

HMG’s shameful history of ignoring public good since the late 1940s is well documented, the ‘can’t afford it’ fairy ever available for public appearance, with the ‘in the national interest’ fairy ever available as backup, yet despite it having worn thin, there is always a ferry story to divert attention, – “OMG S.Uist residents are being starved to death” c/o Mr. Peteranna et al, amplification provided free by James Cook.

Had to look back to phase 1 of my additional insulation project to find in today’s terms the humungous outlay for a 50% drop in energy losses by way of materials, RADA approved ‘oh my god’ pause, even longer pause for Bafta nomination effect….. 200 quid retail.

Having watched a ‘Heatgeek’ interview with Minister for Energy Consumers Miatta Fahnbulleh earlier this week, which went into some of the issues and plans for reform, it was a delight – A remarkably enthusiastic Minister so on top of her brief, she even passed the mass flow question cited by a viewer… Whether she can coerce government to listen and act will undoubtedly be her greatest challenge.

Perhaps a visit by her to Scotland may assist….
