Why is the Herald hours behind STV News at the very same time? If you have to watch TV News, watch STV

I know many disagree but the evidence is in. STV News, for all its faults, can be trusted far more than BBC Scotland, the Herald, the Scotsman or the Record.

It’d take too long to extract the text but see these:

And finally, empirically, as far back as May 2015:

  1. I have a friend who has worked for both STV and BBC Scotland in News and Current Affairs.

He pointed out that STV, like other independent broadcasters is bound by a legal code of balance and fairness and, on the whole has struck pretty well with it.

However, despite what its charter and what it claims for itself the BBC is not bound by such rigorous legal regulation and, so, as we have seen for at least 10 years in relation to Scotland, it is demonstrably biased.

When he worked at BBC Scotland he said that some matters had to be ‘run by’ the in-house ‘security’ officer (whom he thinks was probably employed by MI5.

I recognise that this is anecdotal, but that does not inhibit BBC Scotland who use vox pops, get people to send texts on items which are framed in a partial way, bases reports on ‘dinner party conversations’, etc.

  2. I suspect all bar STV are sponsored and pressured to a greater or lesser degree by HMG via an obscure Scottish Office budget provision. In the Heralds case, that paper has not been financially viable for years.

The bias and manipulated news it is now becoming so blatantly obvious, and documented time and time again through the great work of Prof John Robertson and ably assisted by Stewart B would shame any normal organisation into an internal review. Could you really imagine the BBC doing that! 🙂

The more desperate the story, e.g. everything is a “crisis” now according to the Herald, the more panic there seems to be in the Unionist camp.
