Reporting Scotland this morning happily parroting the ‘opposition parties’ and feasting on the Primary teachers strike and the First Minister’s ‘hospitals are full’ comment, repeats the call for the Scottish Health Secretary to resign. All of supposedly ‘our’ newspapers have the same full-blown scare on the NHS with no mention that our ambulance staff are not striking today.
Failing badly in their claimed role as a taxpayer-funded public service provider, they don’t remind us that Scottish Ambulance staff are not on strike, unlike the ones triggering this sort of report elsewhere in the UK:
I worry we’re killing people – ambulance call centre worker. Ambulance staff will take part in their second day of strike action this winter, on Wednesday. Alongside paramedics, call-centre staff will walk out across England and Wales in the dispute over pay. These workers play a vital role, taking calls from the public and assigning ambulance crews.

Aye, HMS James Cook is on a roll, even the “Scotland’s primary schools shut as teachers strike” has been farmed to the UK webpage, with a cleverly written phrase to hide Westminster’s funding strangulation as cause with “Again, like the health service, we have a limited budget, we have a finite budget and no tools that the UK government would have to increase the resources we have available this year”.
Cook’s personal contribution to the NHS propaganda diversion to Sunak and Kuennsberg’s embarrassment in England has now been retired leaving only
– “Scottish hospitals are almost full, says Nicola Sturgeon” with 2,282 comments, the earliest comment 20 hours old despite the article purportedly being 14 hours old (good ole Tardis)
– “Scotland’s A&E departments not safe for patients, says doctors’ union” at 1 day old
lingering on the NHS propaganda battlefield.
Despite Pacific Quay’s careful framing, I’ve little doubt the Union members involved as well as the general public know precisely where the blame for their strife lies, Westminster and the Tories…..

The UK media are clearly under instructions to ensure that in their reporting of health matters they include comparisons to Scotland and Wales which are framed in such a way as to imply that they are at least as bad as things in England. There are also general statements that health problems are common ‘all across Europe’.
Yet the florid Tory right winger Edward Leigh works himself up into a frenzy that the government does not know what to do but that Labour actually has a plan. Apart from Ch4 News I have seen no reference to his claim elsewhere in the media.

When ever was Leigh not florid ? I believe his game as many others is up, the mirage is fading…
Most of the English public have become intimately acquainted with “gaslighting” due to over-exposure in England, much as previously occurred in Scotland under HMS Sarah Smith, now HMS James Cook, and the assembled media of Scotland…..
The media-mafia and politicos are in deep shit – GOOD.

Let’s be clear – sacking the Scottish Health Secretary will ease the Ambulance crisis in England – Yes ?
The BBC , The Daily Mail and the Express are convinced of this – so sacking Sunak will resolve the Cost-of-Living crisis in Scotland – Yes ?

The “Ah, but …” reply is that you are not comparing like with like. In one case you are talking about Scotland which everyone, especially the Guardian, knows is a basket case, but in the other you are talking about England/Britain, who stood alone against the might of the Hun.
