Scottish public put at risk as British Army stops only one possible criminal at airports over Christmas, 95% down on 2021

From their first triumphalist claims on Christmas Eve until their latest on 28 December, the Telegraph continues to mislead the public as to the worrying consequences of replacing Border Force staff with untrained squaddies.

Today, the Guardian has the facts

Just nine people were stopped at passport control and held at Heathrow over three strike days from 23 to 25 December, compared with 189 people over the same three days in 2021 – a 95% drop.

Using Reporting Scotland editorial guidelines and Scotland’s 8% share of the UK population, we can estimate that just one potential criminal was stopped at passport control in Scottish airports, from 23 to 25 December 2022, compared to 19 in the same period in 2021, a 95% drop.

  1. On this ”evidence” we should have a 95% drop in A & E attendance when the army are ‘helping out’ . WOW !
This is clearly the Magic Bullet to solve our industrial relations problems AND the lack of Growth in the economy .
Let’s have the army doing all these jobs that the lazy workers are too a*sed to do properly .
No more long waiting times for surgery , no more queues at the ports , no more late trains , no more long waits for asylum applications to be processed ,….and just think what they could do in Westminster and Holyrood .
No more need for Rees Mogg or Turdo Fraser !

  2. I had a friend present at the NHS Louisa Jordan temporary covid-facility as it was being built by NHS staff.
    Then the BBC showed up.
It had to be partly dismantled so then the army could be filmed “building” it.
The BBC knew all this, but went along with the stunt.
