All day today, Reporting Scotland Down will be featuring the Scottish GP’s shop steward, Andrew Burst, telling us in the most melodramatic of terms that NHS Scotland is in another crisis. This time it’s not enough GPs.
A fact:
As at 30 September 2021, the headcount of GPs in Scotland is 5,195. This is a rise of 74 GPs compared to last year.

Another fact:
Scotland has the highest number of GPs per head of population in the UK, research commissioned by the BBC shows. Analysis by the Nuffield Trust think tank shows there are 76 GPs per 100,000 people, compared to a national UK average of 60.

The above is from 2019. I am aware of no more recent comparative data but, I’d put money on NHS Scotland being even further ahead.
So BBC England must be headlining similar fears?

BBC Wales?

Northern Ireland?

Looks like Dr Burst is the best shop steward fighting for wir members interest, so he is?
As usual the BBC’s report did not give the number of responses. The shop steward said that practices with three doctors often had to close when one or two left, which is not surprising, but he offered no evidence of where or how often this has happened.

If any ever apply to gain employment with them
Tis standard practice for them whilst interviewing
To spring from nowhere
A question like what does 2 +2 make
Strongly advise that you instantly reply EASY it makes 3
