Pam Duncan-Glancy MSP claims today that only 62% of Glasgow hospital patients were seen in 4 hours, in the first half of July. Why has she chosen to report today on the early July data and not those more recently?
Because on week-ending 3 July, it was just 62%. Is her researcher just catching up? Remember, 1 week of data is not necessarily a trend, especially when the performance then improved over the next 4 weeks – 67.8, 70.1, 66.3, 68.3. So the real news is that the 62% was a statistically insignificant blip.
So, if the above is somehow the result of ‘mismanagement by the SNP‘, and not by the boards, how is Labour managing, in Wales?
The proportion of patients being seen within four hours, the range targeted by NHS Wales, dropped to 55.2 per cent- itself the worst four-hour performance on record.https://www.westerntelegraph.co.uk/news/20085891.longest-ever-e-waits-recorded-welsh-nhs-figures/
