A rail operator is carrying out a review after it was criticised for not enforcing social distancing rules when trains cross the border from England. People in Scotland should stay 1m from each other in public places but the rule has been lifted down south. London North Eastern Railway (LNER) earlier told customers it was operating “under English guidance“. Transport Scotland said it was “not acceptable” for LNER to “issue inaccurate advice”. Hours later LNER changed its position, saying it was “reviewing its approach” on Anglo-Scottish services and would provide an update in due course.

Did I hear Hon Sarah state that there was criticism of the Scottish Health Minister for “not vaccinating enough adults”??????
This is remarkable even for the highly partisan BBC, as Scotland has vaccinatated more on the first jag, and is second on the second jag.
Of course the criticism came from DRossie, the BBC Hootsmon parrot, whose every word is promulgated, uninterrupted or questioned, by this Brit Nat propaganda outfit.
At no point did the BBC identify DRoss as the source of the story, or ask him for clarification on vaccination rates in Scotland being worthy of specific criticism above other UK jurisdictions.

I see via twitter word is that Carbuncle Charlie is up in Scotland’s land, with his entourage, it must be really dangerous to be in England the now then, thought so.

“Covid in Scotland: Nearly a third of young adults still unvaccinated”
17% of the entire population of Scotland are under 16 and vaccines are not approved for that age group.
This means 83% of the entire population of Scotland are eligible for the vaccination.
As of yesterday, approximately 73% of the adult population have received their first vaccination.
In other words, only 10% of the adult population in Scotland have still to receive their first dose..

I noticed the “nearly a third unvaccinated” too. Can’t remember the other statistic, but it was them same style.
In this instance, though, I think I’d leave it, even if it was meant as an “aren’t you [not ‘we’ of course] doing badly.
If it’s quite a high number, the tendency might well be to think “Well, if we’re doing so well, I don’t need to be done.” As it is, the message is “We’re doing well, but it’s not nearly enough to beat the thing.”

I doubt that LNER’s guidance is accidental since the company is UK government owned and merely highlights their general view of the devolved countries. I would like to think that the transport police could board these trains at the first station in Scotland, unscheduled stop or not and enforce Scottish regulations.
I have not seen any update yet to their statement that they were reviewing their (LNER) guidelines.

I have contacted Scotrail two or three times about their failure to ensure that people in Scotland are obeying the mandatory mask rule. They say it is not their job to do so.
Meanwhile hordes of rowdy, offensive, drunken maskless yobbos are allowed to travel free from Glasgow (no conductor or ticket checks) to places like Balloch where they make parts of Loch Lomondside no go areas.
