Will BBC Scotland serialise this women’s struggle as it exposes Richard Leonard’s chums? Will Gary Smith be interviewed?

In the Herald today:

Almost 1400 women are preparing to launch legal action against their trade unions over the way officials dealt with historic equal pay disputes within Scotland’s councils. The workers, some of whom claim to have lost out on tens of thousands of pounds, are lodging claims against Unison, Unite and GMB under a new class action process introduced in Scotland earlier this year.

For more than a year from early 2018, BBC Scotland often featured extended coverage of marches and interviews implying that the current SNP Glasgow City Council was responsible for the wages discrimination against women when it had been decades of Labour administrations in cahoots with male-dominated unions such as the GMB that had been responsible:

The women have clearly found them out and are pursuing unions like the GMB whose industrial organiser for 20 years was Richard Leonard. I look forward to BBC Scotland interrogating him and their current leader Gary Smith, recently seen defending private care home owners against suggestions they might have been to blame for the care home deaths:

The BBC used to be openly biased against trade unions back in the 70s. It has only been since the first SNP administration that they have started to co-habit.

  1. The Labour Executive in Scotland could have used some of the millions they sent back to Westminster to sort this problem out.
    More interested in personal entitlement than equal rights for women.
    Says it all.

    1. It was £1.5 BILLION. That’s what BBC told us anyway, wouldn’t be surprised if it was much more than that. Also the ‘block grant’, Scotland’s money after the EngGov have taken it and thrown a few crumbs back to the ‘ungrateful Scots’) was actually a few £billions more when UK ENGLISH Labour were at the helm at Holyrood…as I have said before if anyone can think of one thing that they did FOR the benefit of Scotland, it would be enlightening to know what it was.

  2. Watching Mr Leonard today on FM’s questions. Not for the first time he is again asking questions that have been previously answered in detail to journalists on the daily covid press conferences. Is he watching these press conferences to get his questions?

  3. The Mass of the Indy movement should set up a Central fund solely for the purpose to Litigate against any no matter who what where when or how any who blatantly deploy lies and defamatory remarks against us
    Let them be aware that to do so without due diligence in the form of the most basic of simple research and fact check that they face the distinct possibility of having to explain their actions and words in a court of law
    It would only require success against a high profile offender to stop them in their tracks and to reconsider how they in future approach making public statements

  4. Interesting question.

    Puts the State Propaganda Unit in a difficult position.

    It’s possible it may get a very brief mention in passing but with no context or background and I wouldn’t be surprised if they effectively kill the story for as long as they can.

    1. Noticed that often that after 6 or 7pm (small audience) they “quickly” run through news items that don’t suit the Unionist line .

      1. Vaguely related and not sure where else to put it:

        I was watching the BBC1 News report on CV. It was reporting the latest UK figures and restrictions. I noticed something odd.

        The UK stats were reported as not including Scotland and the reports on various areas included Liverpool then NE England, Wales and Belfast. Nothing on the position here at all.

        I don’t usually watch that news programme. Does this happen a lot? Or is it a once-off?

    WHILST TAKING BIG WAGE RISES AND EXPENSES FOR BOTH

    TORIES AN LIEDEMS ARE ALSO GUILTY WHO STOOD BACK AND ALLOWED

    MAYBE DUE TO THE IMBALANCE OF MALES

    ARE SOMEONES
    MOTHER,GRANNY,SISTER , WIFE

    SO WHY TREAT YOUR LOVED ONES THIS WAY
