In Insider today:

Simon Capaldi, office agency partner at Knight Frank Edinburgh, puts it succinctly: “Edinburgh has fast become the best location for tech companies in the UK, with the exception of London and perhaps Cambridge. “That’s reflected in the high quality of businesses being set up or choosing to locate here, ranging from newly formed fintech start-ups to established businesses which are scaling rapidly. Many of them are emerging from Codebase or spinning out from the city’s eight universities and colleges.” Indeed, West Central Edinburgh boasts a remarkable collection of tech businesses and a now well-established ecosystem that supports them. Many of the early stage tech businesses are based in CodeBase, which is effectively a ‘tech cluster’ in Castle Terrace in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle. In addition to the tech companies themselves, the tech incubator also has partnerships with accountant PwC and Barclays, both of which have offices on the Edinburgh site.
