Long-retired BACTERIOLOGY prof infected with rabid Unionism preferred to FOUR top VIROLOGISTS by Committee Convenor, Lewis MacDonald (Labour)!

In the Herald today:

ONE of Scotland’s leading professors of microbiology believes environmental health officers should lead a “a fleet of contact tracers” as he calls on the Scottish Government to “ramp up capacity” for testing coronavirus patients. Professor Hugh Pennington, emeritus professor of bacteriology at Aberdeen University, will appear remotely before the Scottish Parliament’s health and sport committee today, to give his views on the Covid-19 pandemic….His expertise are [sic] currently being used by the Scottish Police Federation, which has called on Prof Pennington as an advisor on risks and safeguards for police staff during the coronavirus pandemic.

Pennington is a bacteriologist. Covid-19 is a virus. They’re not the same thing. Do we have no top virologists? Well, only FOUR. Note, only the police trade union is now using the prof.

Did he put himself forward or was he ‘head-hunted’ by the committee’s convenor, Lewis McDonald, Labour and Unionist Party?

Prof Pennington retired in 2003, 17 years ago, chaired the Wishaw E-coli investigation in 1997 and was last employed as an enquiry chair, 15 years ago, in the South Wales E-coli outbreak of 2005.

Yet, the prof, top member of the pro-Union group, Scotland Matters, is regularly wheeled out by the opposition parties, BBC Scotland and the Herald to blame the Scottish Government for something.

Have you seen any other virology prof in our media? Me neither. Is that because there are none? Has the SNP betrayed the Scottish people by preventing recruitment of new virology profs?

Well, no, there are at least four I can find easily online. There’s at least one each in the universities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling. There’s even a new one at Aberdeen who must be getting pretty fed up with the old man stealing the limelight after 17 years retired.

What is prof Pennington’s appeal to the Scottish media, we wonder?

  1. The Police Federation have been trying to get rid of PC Calum Steele for some time now.
Steele knows that when he complains about the Scottish Government ( which is often) he is guaranteed to get an almost rapturous applause from the Unionist Media. No doubt like another former well know Polis he has Political ambitions !

  2. “Health and Sport committee”. The Brit Nits (politicians and media) ,have zero interest in finding the truth about the spread of Covid-19, and procedures used against it.

This committee hearing is the equivalent of the old Stalinist Show Trials, where guilt was established BEFORE the trial, and all that was left was the sentencing (and public excoriation).

Bad Penny-ngton—always shows up on the Brit Nat media—Scotland’s Shame !

  3. Birds of a feather flock together
Fools only appoint those who tell them only what they desire to hear
In their case there is NO herd immunity
As the herd is easily rounded up when the tide turns and the infectious beasts are isolated from any input into the making of a modern progressive outward looking fair and equitable nation pooling their resources and skills with other similar nations all for the purpose of attaining real progress in the affairs of man
Because their is no alternative now especially as the amplifying consequences of climate change descends upon us with ever increasing events and ferocity

  4. It is impossible for Pennington to conclude that the R (rate of transmission) in Scottish care homes is 10. The FM is unaware of any study reporting such a figure and Pennington can’t know what is happening in each and every care home. Given the nature of care homes and their residents it is highly likely that the numbers infected will be higher than in the general population. Also, most care homes are privately owned so the attribution of blame, if there is to be blame, should take account of the action and inaction of the owners of such homes.

    1. Re.private care homes you are correct
I politely remind them that under Scots Law
That if monies changes hands between parties I.E. the fees they receive then
A contract has been legally entered into
No matter what any parties have said or wrote
But once that established then all matters
Since the monies exchanged makes all such writings as agreed by all parties is enforceable
Now it moves onto duty of care,HSE matters etc which if broken opens wide the gates to litigation wide open for pursuit of the owners by the fee payers
And that can inc.the Scottish government
If they in any way parted with public monies
In business with a English company who had broke the contract they had with my Company was informed of such and that they now had 14 days to respond. If not then legal proceeding would be commenced against them
Therfore i strongly advised them that they as a matter of urgency seek legal advice and only from legal experts who were qualified to practice law in Scotland
They did so and the advice given was
If you do not honour this contract,or negotiate a new one or compensate out of court then you may find yourself in a court of law in Scotland .Where if the pursuant is found to be correct then you will be forced to do any as intimated above
Tis is not high time that our Scots Law as enshrined by The Act of Union be deployed more and more
It is our Law in our own land USE IT

  5. Pennington will be on the Nine tonight, expounding on how the Scottish Government got it all wrong. I think he’s hoping for a knighthood before he pops his clogs.
