1 465 out of 40 000 or 3.6% of all the RCN members in Scotland bothered to respond. Only 70% of them, around 1 000 or 2.5% of all their members mentioned PPE. The ‘almost half’ above, 46% (674), who felt pressure to re-use PPE amounts to 1.7% of RCN members in Scotland.
In England a real crisis which even the Tories have had to admit to:

Then a huge delivery of PPE from China arrives in Prestwick, this morning.
Later a huge delivery of PPE from Turkey doesn’t arrive in London!
None of us want England to suffer in this way but we do want our useless media to give up their pathetic attempts to find fault and to lie outrageously, when there is no crisis here to talk of.

They better not start saying their need is greater than ours ! , what arrives in Scotland stays in Scotland! .

I remind all in the media that what became of those in Poland who were the puppets of their Soviet masters and resisted the Solidarity movement
By spewing forth their distorted reporting
Once the Poles managed to throw off the Soviet yoke all those in Polish media who aided and abetted the propaganda machine
This led to the vast majority of them being refused similar jobs in the free Polish media
Indeed for yrs no one would employ them
Leading in later yrs the only jobs they could obtain were menial and low skilled
When rapid profound change occurs then memories are sharp and attentive to the forces that lurk in the transformed society
Little do they realise today we are suspicious
One day we will never forget who they are and just who’s little lap dog they were
Such is not a act of revenge but one of pure common sense as once we are free
The former power WILL at every opportunity endeavour to undermine us
And attempt to induce failure
Rule 1 of conflict
Know thy Enemy

So the headline is simply an outright lie. Regardless of careful attempts to ‘confuse’ the issue for the reader, this is an affront to journalism as a profession – whoever wrote this for STV is a disgrace.
Within the body of text the STV staffer wrote this: “Respondents to the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) questionnaire shows 46% of its members north of the border, including those working in high-risk environments, had felt pressed into working without the PPE despite dangers related to the Covid-19 crisis.”
There is nothing in the methodology used for the polling that permits credible extrapolation from the polling results from the self-selecting respondents to the population of RCN members in Scotland.
Such loss of credibility of the corporate media when reporting Scotland is not new – this is now all to typical of the standard. One would have hoped that the Royal College of Nursing would have taken greater care of its professional reputation. The nursing profession needs high quality representation backed by high quality, objective evidence – this is not it! Reputations are hard won but very easily lost!

I have but not in a fastidious manner been taking little mental notes of the best of Scottish journalism can offer at the daily press updates on the virus
Rather like a farmer hangs over the dyke
Casually observing the beasts in his field
But with very good reason that is to attain the overall progress and health of the animals he is casually observing
After all if some ill health shall befall upon
His charges then the costs could become horrendous
So here are my casual observations
The so called Press are more akin to a herd of sheep, although i cannot see the collie dog who is driving them on,no doubt such a collie is a fine specimen indeed who would win any sheepdog trial with consumate ease

However little does the collie realise that the sheep under his control are really really stupid
Further more the poor wee dog is failing to realise that his sheep are being driven straight into the face of efficency of the Scottish ministers and most able civil servants Who not by design or evil intent
But by a force of sheer determination, pre preparedness and compassionate empathy and skill inadvertently leading to the Bah Bah black sheep completely failing to drive them into the sheep pen clearly marked SUCCESS that cunning sleekit wee beastie of the collie dug (wally in this case)

The journalist are merely scrabbling around with their unprotected mits in a bucket full of broken glass and the only shining little diamond are the responses they receive
As for the daily pantomime in London
It is so obvious the sheep have no collie dog to direct them
But maybe because those holding the daily briefing such as Patel,Rabb & Gove Etc.
Are Goats
So both stupid parties merely end as they began Totally bereft and utterly confused
If it were not so serious it would indeed be The Greatest comedy show of all time
Hollywood could not write such a script
But the Historians SHALL

Are the media getting bored with Covid-19? Or do they just not fancy their chances against the Scottish public health representatives?
I noticed today at the Scottish Government press conference 2 journalists didn’t bother to turn up at all, one didn’t have a question because somebody else had already asked her question. And one made a speech. In the middle of his ramble round the English language, I wanted to deliver the line the judge usually does in American courtroom dramas: ‘Is there a question in there, counsellor?’ Most of us couldn’t hear it anyway because the BBC Scotland channel still haven’t got the sound right on these occasions.
But after he’d said his bit, Jeane Freeman told us what he’d said: that every measure put in place to contain the virus has failed. She gleefully contradicted him, quoting a lot of the measures that are working (staying in, not mixing with people outside your family, and so on) and reminding him that these weren’t measures taken by government but by the Scottish people. And that was his gas on a peep.
I also liked the question to Jason Leitch (again difficult to make out): had he broken ‘curfew’ to go to a Stereophonics gig? ‘Not me,’ said Jason, adding witheringly ‘I’m not a Stereophonics fan.’ (Me neither, Jason). He then added that some of his family had gone to the concert. And it was 12 days before the lockdown was announced.
I hope the press hang in there. They may not be having fun but the rest of us are…

I noticed an upturn in frustration in some of the questions today, especially in a couple of young ladies from, I think, the Sun and the Daily Mail, who couched their questions in particularly hostile language, using the ever-reliable anonymous sources. There was also a number of attempts throughout the session to divert the FM into making political comments on the way this awful situation is being managed, or not, south of the border.
As always, the FM saw them off with her usual candour and civility, though I’d guess she was seething underneath. I was. I imagine this is the direction their repetitive questioning will take more and more, as they try desperately to trip her into saying something derogatory about her Westminster counterpart. I wonder how they’ll eventually work the word “independence” into their COVID-19 stories.
They SHOULD know better.
