The Rise and Fall of the Thought Control Scotland and Talking-Up Scotland Empires

Above, in suitably British pink, Talking-Up Scotland’s global penetration. Since the 25th August, when I archived Thought Control Scotland and launched the less Marmitey Talking-Up Scotland, things have shrunk a bit (the blog!). Some readers thought the name change might actually boost the audience because they had often hesitated to share posts, fearing they would be thought paranoid.

Here’s the state of play under the rule of thought control in the first half of 2019:

Ominous signs of collapse despite talking-up? And in 2018:

And in 2017 we still had Greenland:

Of course it may not have been anything to do with the name change but rather my image after this exposure:

Oooh…a whole chapter on the Tories!

Mind you, picking up recently ‘after’ infection by Norovirus:

  1. I don’t think the change of name has had that deleterious effect on your figures. If you look at some of the places where the pink has disappeared they have not had their troubles to seek recently. For example, Greenland and Trump’s plan to buy it; Central and East Africa really bad drought, Victoria falls have dried to a trickle according to reports today; Libya no more needs to be said about that benighted country; northern part of South America – Venezuela and then the forest fires in the Amazon and unless I am mistaken that is Bolivia or thereabouts in central South America.

So not as bad as you may think.

      1. Maybe the changes in the worldwide profile of the blog is actually correlating with global hotspots. For example Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria and North Korea have never been in pink. But Iran and Iraq were pink in 2017 but 2018 into early 2019 turned grey as internal problems escalated.

Perhaps you have inadvertently uncovered a way of tracking hotspots using your blog. Researchers have used Twitter traffic to give them realtime info on the spread of flu so why not your blog giving a snapshot of hotspots?

  2. John, Sir John Glubb (of Jordan Arab Legion fame) estimated Empires only last for about 250 years, so yours has a way to go yet.

    Some tips for yer Empire—
DONT expose yourself–it makes the rest of us queezy.
Don’t let the sun set on your Empire–go to bed early, and get up late.
Put bees wax in your ears, and wear blinkers–it tunes out the sweetheart*, helps with paranioa (they ARE out to get you!). Don’t look behind you!

Have a wee Goldie at night–maybe two. If you are below halfway in the bottle, its a shame ( in some parts, its a crime) not to finish it!

Angus Ogg caught the He rum Ho rum virus, and the pair cratur was never the same–ochone, ochone.

So pucker up, and get on with it! We depend on you.

    1. Great advice. I’ll adopt all of it and, like Neddy Seagoon, travel by day to avoid the moon.

Pucker up? Just listening in the car yesterday to Placebo sing: ‘Pucker up for heaven’s sake. There’s never been so much at stake.’ Who knew they were supporters?

      1. Glubb Pasha? His Blond Buffoonish descendent is called “Gubb Patho”.

        Gubb, because…..you know!

Patho because he is a pathological liar (an actual medical condition).

In Swahili he is known as “The Father of Lies”, and his word is taken as gospel by some used car salesmen in Scotland.
When they hear him speak, they enter a trance-like state and forget to breath, causing facial swelling and floridity.
        There is no cure!

  3. Well I’m beyond bewildered by this global referencing but fair play – who’s have thunk such a benighted wee poor country could produce yet more global influencers?

    Keep it up!
