2. So Sky News also reported today that:

   “British Steel losing £1.3m a day – and there is no ‘credible‘ survival plan yet, MPs warn”.

   In a new report, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) warns that the government has not yet set out concrete plans for how the company will become financially sustainable. It continues to cost £1.3m a day of UK taxpayers’ money“.

   (So I say that basically it seems then that no expense is spared when it is an industry that is based in England).

   The article continued in stating that:

   “The government intervened to prevent the closure of its blast furnaces in April 2025“.

   “More than a year later, it could not set out what business model or decarbonisation pathway would put the company on a sustainable footing, the committee concluded”.

   (So I say that it’s a bit rich of Labour in Scotland , in 2025, to once accuse the SNP of “wasting hundreds of millions of pounds in public funds and failing to implement a reliable, long-term strategy for Scotland’s lifeline ferry network” ).

   Also funny is it not , that when it came to Grangemouth Oil Refinery , the Labour UK government “rejected nationalization, maintaining that keeping a fundamentally loss-making private oil-refining business running indefinitely was not viable“.

   Yet somehow they, the same Labour UK government, “provided a £600 million loan guarantee to INEOS (who were the owners of Grangemouth Oil Refinery) for its Project One petrochemical plant in Antwerp, Belgium”.

   (BTW this ‘loan’ to INEOS was originally a decision that was made under the previous Tory government, that was then left unchanged, as a decision , by Labour)

   That is the same Labour UK government who were being regarded by many as nowt more than a continuity Red Tory UK government.

   Also worth noting that the SNP highlighted in August 2026 that:

   “Eighteen months after the Westminster Labour (UK) government pledged £200 million for Grangemouth following the closure of Scotland’s only oil refinery, not a single penny has been delivered“.

   The SNP also highlighted the times when:

   “A refinery in Lincolnshire (England again) was bailed out and when £100bn was found for English nuclear power plants” and they, the SNP, also added that”

   “The Scottish Government has committed nearly £100m to Grangemouth, despite energy and economic powers being reserved to Westminster”.

   So I wonder who exactly are all of those 37 Labour MP’s who were elected in Scotland in the 2024 UK GE really working for ?

   Well obviously not so much for Scotland, as in the same Scotland that Labour’s former leader assured us would be “at the “heart of his Labour UK government”, more really Scotland once again being politically, economically and socially marginalized within their UK State.

   Marginalised by a dominant English UK government that are based at the “heart” of what is considered to be England’s politics (that are badly) disguised as being UK politics , that is based at WM in the capital of England , i.e. London. (as is the UK PM – who now has, not just one but two number 10’s in England).

   “Better Together” or for Scotland would it have been far far better for us had we voted to try to be far far Better Apart ?
