The BBC’s (hidden and not publicised) Corrections and Clarifications section on their BBC website has finally added this :
“Mornings”
“BBC Radio Scotland, 30 July 2026“
“In an item on the social care system in Scotland, our presenter spoke to Dr Robert Kilgour, chairman of Renaissance Care, who operate 19 care homes across Scotland. Dr Kilgour was being interviewed to draw on his experience as someone who runs care homes across the country and was introduced accordingly.
While the programme itself included a range of different views, Dr Kilgour’s comments during the interview included his opinions on the Scottish Government’s National Care Service plan. In those circumstances, it would have been better if the programme had referenced the fact that Dr Kilgour has previously donated to the Conservative Party, something we have reflected in our output before, and is also the founder and chairman of Scottish Business UK. We’re happy to make that clear now and have reminded programme teams about where additional context is helpful for our audience“
“07/09/2026“
( I remember during Covid he, Kilgour, was also platformed- as just a Care Home owner- on various news programmes on various UK TV channels to also mouth off about the Scottish government and where there was absolutely no mention of his affiliation with the Tory party in him being a Tory donor, a former Tory candidate and now still a Tory supporter).
On the 7 September MSM Monitor posted this:
“BREAKING The BBC has upheld a complaint after the political background of care home owner Robert Kilgour was concealed from listeners to the Radio Scotland phone-in on July 30th. Kilgour was allowed to attack the SNP Govt unchallenged by host Stephen Jardine. This is the latest in a string of apologies and corrections the BBC has been forced to make over the last few years, all relating to broadcasts that negatively impact the SNP“.
MSM Monitor also posted this on 8 September:
“Yet another complaint upheld against BBC Scotland after the station breached its own guidelines during a political discussion. Again the SNP was negatively impacted. It’s statistically impossible that these repeated episodes are down to chance. A Holyrood inquiry is justified. There is overwhelming evidence that institutional corruption has taken hold and political output is being manipulated at BBC Scotland. Censorship is rife and suppression or tabloid amplification of selected stories commonplace depending on who benefits politically. Scottish licence cash is being misappropriated. It’s tantamount to fraud. Something needs to be done. Questions need to be asked”.
So what (constantly) happens and so then exists as a (constant) situation is where BBC Scotland news teams are (constantly) allowing politically partisan guests on their news programmes to attack the SNP , both as a political party and also as the current Scottish government, with absolutely no mention of their guest’s links to another political party or to an organisation that opposes both the SNP and Scottish independence.
These are guests (constantly) invited onto a BBC Scotland news programme , who as (constant) BBC guests are known to have an affiliation with some party that is in opposition to the SNP, yet all that BBC HQ (constantly) does in response to these types of complaints is for them to (constantly) just add them , as complaints, onto their hidden away BBC Corrections and Clarifications section on their website, as in each time any of these complaints are upheld in relation to this same (constant) behaviour being (constantly) repeated by BBC Scotland news team.
Also the fact that BBC HQ (constantly) states that they have either “reminded programme teams about where additional context is helpful for our audience” or in another example where they have stated that :”Our editorial guidelines state that “We should not automatically assume that contributors from other organisations (such as academics, journalists, researchers and representatives of charities and think-tanks) are unbiased. Appropriate information about their affiliations, funding and particular viewpoints should be made available to the audience, when relevant to the context.”.
So either they , BBC HQ, are not reminding their “programme teams” of these above points , or if they are then it is obvious these “programme teams” within BBC Scotland are wilfully choosing to ignore that reminder and that “recommendation” by BBC HQ.
If that is the case then why is there no punishment via BBC HQ, or indeed why is the so called media regulator Ofcom not addressing this (constant) situation happening within the BBC Scotland news teams, so then they, Ofcom, should be issuing some penalty in the way of a fine , as this same (constant) issue comes up time and time again.
Also these upheld complaints by BBC HQ should not just be hidden away in what is, for many people, an unknown section within the BBC website , but instead an apology and a full explanation should be given the exact same prominence on the exact same BBC Scotland programme that originally allowed this so called ‘error’ or ‘mistake’ to be broadcast on.
There really should be much much more done about the toxic presence of the BBC news within Scotland .
There is a quote that I read online via a former General Secretary of the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport workers, that stated:
“If you fight you won’t always win, but if you don’t fight you will always lose”.
That , as a quote, is so applicable for those of us who support Scottish independence as we continue to fight against the various parts of the British establishment. (that as an establishment includes the BBC).
As it is indeed applicable to us in our (constant) fight against what is known to be very dodgy news output from a very dodgy fake news provider, one that has infiltrated Scotland on behalf of their (also dodgy) UK State, that dodgy news outfit being the BBC, as in the British Broadcasting Corporation).
The clue being in their name as to why they (constantly) promote dodgy news items in Scotland , as well as them also (constantly) platforming dodgy non impartial guests on much of their BBC Scotland ‘news’ programmes .
