In August 2026 and August 2025 our figures were:

32% more researched reports published and 80% more visitors yet only around £6 000 raised by today compare to this last September:

I know this crowdfunder has not yet finished but donations tend to be front-loaded and have now almost stopped.

  1. Horses, water and drink spring to mind! Your blog is one of only two that I donate to when fund raisers are active and I would be sorry to see it go. You and your guest contributors do grand work, which I’m sure is much appreciated by many more than me, but why some can’t be tempted to fund your work is beyond me.

    Embarrassed by the fact that my earlier donation is well below the current average for 111 supporters, I have just made a second donation. I’m still below the average, but feel better in myself. By the way, I find the direct bank transfer the easiest route to funding the blog and once set up requires minimum time and effort.

    I do hope you can be bothered / encouraged to continue.
