The Sunday Mail (falsely) headlined this last Sunday:
“Burnham: I’ll deliver for Scotland”.
So what has he, so far, “delivered” ?
Well he has given a peerage and also a role in his UK government to someone who, as the (alleged) leader of Labour in Scotland, (badly) lost the Scottish election for Labour in Scotland in May of this year.
He has also kept on the same SOS against Scotland even after revelations in June 2026 that this same individual, Douglas Alexander, was said to have “broken the ministerial code by not declaring a meeting with Peter Mandelson’s lobbying agency“ that is when he, Alexander, was formerly a Trade Minister in 2024.
(Alexander ” faced no further action” even though UK law requires ministers to report meetings with lobbyists every three months”.
Keir Starmer just stated that it was to be regarded as a “regrettable administrative oversight” rather than a breach of the ministerial code – it was also reported that in messages just after the 2024 general election, Alexander appeared to have “credited Lord Mandelson with his return to parliament as MP for Lothian East, referencing support over several years“).
Now we also are told that Burnham has given a promotion to the former Better Together chief, Blair McDougall , as he has been given a new ministerial role in Burnham’s UK Government.
Then to top it all we also have, like Sarwar , yet another Labour reject, Margaret Curran, being awarded a new role by Burnham ( Starmer awarded a peerage to her last year, January 2025, long after her constituents rejected her in 2015) .
Burnham has now made Curran a Minister of State in the department for Energy Security and Net zero.
The Nuclear Industry association posted this on ‘X’ yesterday:
“Congratulations Baroness Curran @Margaret_Curran. We look forward to a close working relationship to drive forward the UK nuclear programme”.
( A “close working relationship to drive forward the UK nuclear programme” , do they perhaps mean like her trying to impose Nuclear projects upon Scotland as part of her colonial remit , in her new ‘job’ working for an English PM within an English government).
So Burnham and his latest House Jock appointments to his UK government, is not him delivering FOR Scotland but it is him delivering TO Scotland the absolute worse possible people whose only remit and concern is delivering for themselves , their own party, Labour, and then first and foremost also FOR England (only).
So with Burnham as the new UK PM it’s not really just a case of the new boss being just the same as old boss, but it’s more a case of the new boss being seemingly far far worse than the old boss. (for Scotland and I also suspect for elsewhere within the UK State too).
Not forgetting also Burnham’s command that we , in Scotland, are not allowed to mention , in his presence, any talk of us having another Independence Referendum, in what is now without doubt a non United and unequal Kingdom, that is not and never will be a supposed ‘Union’).

I went off him long before he made it to No 10. The whole thing seemed SO contrived. I found all the love being aimed his way quite nauseating, eventually turning off the TV at the very mention of his name.
He hasn’t done anything to change my mind to date.

Zach Polanski posted this on BlueSky today:
“Its not just me & Angela Rayner. If this Labour government rule out rent controls, a wealth tax, refuse to nationalise water companies, drill for oil and gas, continue to arm Israel – The country will be asking what’s the point of a Labour Government“?
Indeed.
In fact many of us within “the other country” of Scotland , whose water is already nationalised and whose Oil and Gas it is that Labour and other governments have been extracting for another country’s (England’s) benefit, have all been asking that very same Q for a long long time .
While knowing full well that the answer is that there is no point to Labour at all, either as a political party nor as any government within the UK State.
As in there is no point in either supporting them as a party , voting for them as a party nor joining them as party members.
Indeed to support them, vote for them or to join them within Scotland, is as an act , one of huge self harm both personally and also for one’s country, Scotland.
The tragedy for Scotland is that there are still some people living in Scotland , who as Scots , either refuse to see that as a reality or they just cannot see that , as a reality , even though , with mounting evidence, it is blatantly obvious.
I do like Zach Polanski , but he too often falls into the trap of using the term “The country”, when plainly some of the examples he uses (such as “refuse to nationalise water companies”) do not apply to Scotland but do apply to England.

The ego of this unelected PM is a wonder to behold !
He demonstrates his disregard for democracy by arrogantly dismissing the mandate of an elected leader , John Swinney , while refusing to allow the UK electorate any voice in his mandate to rule ( or not ! ).
We complained about the refusal of previous PMs , May , Johnson and Starmer , to listen to the voice of the Scottish People as they consistently denied another referendum . But at least they were elected in a GE ! Burnham has only faced the electorate in a suburb of Manchester .
His attitude to Scotland has been clearly demonstrated by his actions in maintaining Wee Dougie Alexander as his Governor General despite him planning and overseeing the worst Scottish (sic) Labour election result since the last one ; and then promoting to the House of Failures the man whose constant self-promotion was the key to Labour losing the Scottish election in May .

LABOUR ARE CORRUPTIBLE IN SCOTLAND

Noted that on his trip to Scotland he, and his energy minister, banned the Scottish press from attending their press calls. This man has “democracy” written all over him with a big red line through it.

Just a wee ‘aside’…..There is no such thing as ‘Scottish’ press.
Not one media outlet, tv station, radio station or newspaper is pro independence despite, according to recent polls, nearly half the country are in favour of it!
A bit strange, until you realise that media is reserved to Westminster. In other words we are a subjugated colony under nothing short of a totalitarian regime at Westminster, and the so called ‘Scottish’ media are complicit in it.
